Guidelines
Tagging and assessment
Any articles that are within the scope of this project should be tagged with {{WikiProject Football}}. You should add Spain = yes
as this will automatically put the page in the appropriate categories.
Season to season tables
- Default formattings:
1. For active senior clubs: 20x20 seasons each, divided by two columns. Both must contain the rows: Season, Tier, Division (always abbreviated), Place and Copa del Rey.
- Examples: UD Almería, Gimnàstic de Tarragona
1.1. If an active club does not reach the 20 seasons yet, it should be listed in a single column.
- Examples: SFC Minerva
2. For defunct senior clubs: same as active senior clubs, but if the number of seasons reach less than 40 (20x20), a counting should be done and the division should reflect the correct number of seasons.
- Examples: CD Fuengirola, UD Fuengirola
2.1. If the number of remaining seasons reach less than twelve (6x6), it should be listed in a single column.
- Examples: Lucena CF
3. For active reserve teams: 20x20 seasons each, divided by two columns. Both must contain the rows: Season, Tier, Division (always abbreviated) and Place.
3.1. If the reserve team was created before 1991, the team should be treated as farm team, unless it breaks the 20x20 syntax already defined.
- Examples: Real Madrid Castilla, Real Valladolid B
3.1.1. A team who switched back and forth from being a farm team of another can have a note and a {{N/A}}
template to define the seasons where the club was a reserve/farm team, thus unavailable to play in the Copa del Rey.
- Examples: CF Peralada
3.2. If the team was an independent club before turning into a reserve team, then the spell should be divided properly.
- Examples: CD Vitoria, Celta de Vigo B
4. For defunct reserve teams: same as defunct senior clubs, with the considerations of active reserve teams.
- Examples: UDA Gramenet B

- Notes
- ^ The colour pattern is established according to the creation of Segunda División B in 1977, and of Primera División RFEF in 2021.
- ^ During the 1941–42 and 1942–43 seasons, the third tier was not held, so the third tier colour should not be considered on those occasions
Categories
- Default formattings:
1. All team pages should have their categories reviewed and properly divided by region. If the region's category does not exist, it should be created;
2. Every defunct reserve team should not carry the category Category:Spanish reserve football teams, but should remain categorized to its parent club.
- Examples: FC Barcelona C, Deportivo Alavés C
3. If a team holds a current or former affiliation to another club which have a category, the main club's cat should exist in the affiliated club's article.
- Example: CD Vitoria affiliated with SD Eibar, SD Ejea affiliated with SD Huesca
