Florida is not mentioned in the target article. Frost 22:50, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Note: This was apparently created as a redirect in the aftermath of the deletion closure of Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 January 3#Retiring to florida. Utopes (talk / cont) 23:45, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- As User:Tamzin notes in that disucssion, retirement to Florida is likely a notable topic in and of itself. I have therefore started Draft:Retirement to Florida, which would serve as an appropriate target for all of these redirects. BD2412 T 03:53, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for creating that draft – the amount of encyclopaedic topics popular in everyday discourse that lack articles always amazes me. However, it's not a great target for this redirect, as "Retirement in Florida" is obviously much broader than "Retirement to Florida". Hence, delete. J947 ‡ edits 07:20, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- I merged the discussion for Retiring to Florida into this discussion. They were originally listed separate, but they had the same nominator, the same rationale, and the redirects are similar themselves, so I did not see why they needed separate discussions. (All the comments above this one may specifically be for Retirement in Florida.) Steel1943 (talk) 23:10, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

Dead stock
- Dead stock → Vintage clothing (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Especially with the space (instead of "deadstock"), a general term for unsold stock, not just referring to clothing. Too vague to target to something this specific. In theory, could be redirected to somewhere in Inventory, but the closest that page currently has is the Distressed inventory section, which I think isn't actually synonymous. Note also that the album Dead Stock exists, though I don't think we should redirect to that. Rusalkii (talk) 19:41, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

Not mentioned at target; does not seem specific to West Point. Was a 2-line unsourced stub from 2009 that was immediately redirected, would be highly unlikely to survive Afd. Possible retarget possibilities include exam#final exam, but the lowercase term end exam or even term exam don't exist, so deletion is probably best. Mdewman6 (talk) 17:48, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Speedy so I could pagemove was declined due to "longstanding title"... Nobody knows this pro wrestled by his legal name. He is most famous for his WWE name of Cousin Luke. The MOS says we should use the most common names wherever possible and this is no real exception, much in the same way John Wayne is not found at Marion Morrison, or Triple H is not found at Paul Michael Levesque, and Abdullah the Butcher is not found at Lawrence Robert Shreve. - The literary leader of the age ✉ 17:27, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

Not mentioned at the target. As it happens, Login (magazine) is an entirely separate topic. The magazine does get discussed at ASCII (magazine), but the context and link there is different and implies that this is supposed to be elsewhere. There's a good number of incoming links here from various references, presumably, so I figured I'd air it here because it's not very helpful in its current state. Not mentioned at the target. Per the sentence from 2001, "Loding is the first of the three chains that the gods of the Norse Mythology used to chain Fenris." By no means an alternate name, and an entirely different undiscussed topic. Much more plausible as a spelling of loading, especially so if you're loading lodes. Løding might be a better target yet. Utopes (talk / cont) 16:46, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- retarget to løding per nom in absence of an exact target, with strong absence to loading and lode, as it could then be qualified as a bad pun- i mean, would likely not be a fitting target for either, and wouldn't have enough exact matches for a dab consarn (speak evil) (see evil) 17:28, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

- Little Bukaria → Uzbekistan (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Per the edit summary, this is an archaic name for Uzbekistan. However, this information is completely obscured to readers as it is never discussed in the article text. At a previous 2022 RfD, it was aired that a mention could be added with some listed sources, and kept temporarily as a "redirect without mention". However, this category is never a permanent solution, and now in 2025 there still is nothing for the term "Bukaria", nor any type of area being "Little". It seems that this could be discussed in some way, but leaving it be forever does not seem to be possible, as people who look for information about the archaic definition of Uzbekistan's "little Bukaria" will not be able to find it at the target. Utopes (talk / cont) 16:06, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
Comment Not really sure on this one. There are a few hits on Internet Archive for this phrase but most of them are passing references. The most helpful sources I found were these two maps from 1917 and 1749. Interestingly, in both maps, the cities of Yarkand and Turfan are both shown to be in this region. Today, both cities are in Xinjiang. So, perhaps "Little Bukaria" is actually a name for that region? And not Uzbekistan? Although, see also this source which identifies Little Bukaria as a Uzbek region. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 17:36, 10 January 2025 (UTC)- Retarget to East Turkestan per Kusma. Not mentioned at the target. A previous RfD indicated that a section "should be restored and that this should be talked about at the article", but the section was entirely unsourced and if it were to be brought back, it would be deleted again. In absence of anything else, there also happens to be Law of Five which is a disambiguation page that points to Wuxing (Chinese philosophy), but there's really little need for a disambiguation page if only Wuxing covers the concept of "five", which is wholly unmentioned at Discordianism besides a five-fingered hand. I propose deletion as nothing is ever referred to as "the law of fives" at the Wuxing article, no mention of "law" there. Utopes (talk / cont) 15:43, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Disambiguate between the other places that this "law" is mentioned (The Illuminatus! Trilogy#Numerology and see also 23 enigma) and the Chandeliers album and Think: Peace song. J947 ‡ edits 07:31, 16 January 2025 (UTC)

This person is not discussed at the target page. As such, is a misleading redirect. This was BLAR'd in 2014 to avoid an AfD and had a dedicated section up until a few months ago. As of then, this redirect becomes misleading if people looking for this individual cannot read about them at the target. Utopes (talk / cont) 15:28, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

- pokémon anime characters are kind of weird in that regard. if they're not main characters or nurse joy, they have little to no hope of ever being notable, and even then, it's a gamble. this especially applies to one-off characters from before gen 7, anime ocs from before gen 9, and gen 1 leaders who aren't brock or misty (put an asterisk on giovanni though), who are all but bound to get nothing but passing mentions in articles about how cool charizard is, that pot-bellied, spotlight-hogging, stealth rock-allergic gecko. danny fits all those categories, so i'm a little less than optimistic about his chances

There's got to be no way this redirect is useful as a target to a band that has nothing to do with them save for sharing a split single/EP. Ten years ago, someone tried to Speedy G8 this, but it was declined as it was deemed that it was determined to be "useful to Wikipedia". I don't buy that, and I'm asking that more people discuss it.
In theory, this band is notable, as this Orange County hardcore band has shared multiple band members with several different clearly notable bands involved in their scene. But that has not yet been demonstrated. mftp dan oops 01:29, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

WP:Cheap is an essay, and doesn't address a single thing from the nomination. - It is not an album, and hardly an EP. I'm not buying that argument. A split EP, barely longer than what you could call a single, with two songs from the contributing band, is not an appropriate target. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to find that conclusion. The best target, in theory if he had enough SIGCOV for an article, might be Keith Barney (18V, Throwdown). But Bane is not a helpful target. - Sorry, I didn't notice the old RfD, it had been returned to the unreviewed redirect queue which I always assume have not been looked at before. My mistake. Rusalkii (talk) 18:23, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

- Mushroom Kingdom → Mario (franchise) (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Bringing this up for discussion after discovering that Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mushroom Kingdom occurred in April 2024, which established a consensus to redirect this title to Super Mario. I retargeted this redirect to Mario (franchise) As a more plausible target, given that the subject of the redirect is part of the franchise as a whole, not just the video game series. In addition, the franchise article seems to contain more information about the subject of this redirect than the series article. In other words, my vote here is keep, but I'm bringing this up for discussion because it seems like consensus for this is necessary. Steel1943 (talk) 14:29, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

- Restore. I guess I'll just use this opportunity to express my displeasure at the outcome of the AfD. If I had seen it at the time I would have !voted to keep it. Plenty of sources exist as was demonstrated by Zxcvbnm. -- Tavix (talk) 20:16, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

- I'm indifferent to the target, as long as it stays a redirect. No one has been able to establish notability, and there's multiple existing articles that cover it. Sergecross73 msg me 13:53, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Restore Yeah, it's notable, especially when factoring in that one article about Peach's Castle, which exists within the Mushroom Kingdom itself. If that is not done, though, keep because this is the most sensible target. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 14:10, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Keep for now. Until someone can provide a solid proof of concept for a revised version of the Mushroom Kingdom article, I say to keep the redirect as is. If such an article can be provided and has ample discussion elsewhere between editors, then I will be more supportive of a restore. CaptainGalaxy 16:40, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Keep The redirect is better at that article. As for a recreation, this was already discussed by consensus months ago to be non-notable. Per Galaxy, if someone wants to make a proof of concept and such, then that's fine, but recreating an article already deemed non-notable without any idea of how it would look, is not a wise decision, and better off discussed elsewhere. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 17:33, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Restore with no prejudice against another effort to redirect. AfD conclusion was wrong, but not egregiously so, nothing is going to break if we give it another chance. People find sources for articles being threatened with redirection, not for redirects. Jclemens (talk) 21:28, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Comment I'm not clear on the discussion here. I will reiterate that I think a Mario setting or Universe of Mario article would be a good potential article. In the meantime, I accept that the AFD had a consensus to redirect (even as someone who !voted keep), and it's improper for someone trying to ignore that consensus without more discussion. Shooterwalker (talk) 22:45, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's fine to be discussing different redirect target possibilities here, but this isn't the place to try to overturn the AFD consensus, which it feels like some of the above comments are driving at... Sergecross73 msg me 01:44, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

Redirects from Russian to United States
- Соединенные Штаты → United States (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
- Соединенные Штаты Америки → United States (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Delete as redirects in a language other than English to a page whose subject is unrelated to that language (point 8 of WP:R#DELETE)/per WP:RFOREIGN). Noting that the previous discussion was closed as a trainwreck, with the closer asking that these be renominated individually. I'm bundling these two together as they are both from Russian. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:37, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:25, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Retarget to List of country names in various languages (Q–Z)#U where it's mentioned. I'm also fine with keeping it due to the fact that Russia has colonial ties to the United States. -- Tavix (talk) 20:22, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

- Delete. I absolutely cannot believe that someone typing "Соединенные Штаты" is going to reach List of country names in various languages (Q–Z)#U and think "great, this is exactly where I intended to end up, thanks wikipedia!" At any rate, that article will turn up in the search results, and they'll realize when it does that they searched en-wiki instead of ru-wiki by mistake and leave. Just delete them. -- asilvering (talk) 22:32, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
