Nominated June 21, 2005 (Tu), needs three votes by June 28, 2005 (Tu)
The seventies in Hong Kong is surely an important period in Hong Kong history, it transitted from a manufacturing centre to a financial centre, which is exactly the role of Hong Kong now. Why don't we improve this important article then? - Crosstimer 09:20, Jun 21, 2005

- Jerry Crimson Mann 10:46, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC) comment: the topic is misleading: seventies of what? This century? Last century? Or A.D. 23? Should it be "the 1970s of Hong Kong"?

Filipinos in Hong Kong -August 4, 2005
Actually, in order to reveal the cosmopolitan nature of Hong Kong, a series of demographic articles are arguably needed.
Nationalities
- Filipinos in Hong Kong - very obvious
- Indonesians in Hong Kong - pretty conspicuous
- Others:Americans in Hong Kong, Britons in Hong Kong, Japanese people in Hong Kong, Koreans in Hong Kong, Thais in Hong Kong, Jews in Hong Kong, Indians in Hong Kong, etc..
Chinese hometown / Ancestral register
- New immigrants in Hong Kong
- Shanghainese in Hong Kong, Cantonese people in Hong Kong, Minnaner in Hong Kong, Teochew people in Hong Kong, etc..

- I've made some minor changes the suggested titles :-) [1]. By the way should Minnaner be Hokkien people? And I'd like to add Hakka people in Hong Kong and Vietnamese people in Hong Kong to the nominations. — Instantnood 08:38, July 26, 2005 (UTC)
- If possible, demographics of Hong Kong can be another HK-related series. :-D -- Jerry Crimson Mann 09:51, 28 July 2005 (UTC)

- Alanmak 23:24, 2 August 2005 (UTC) - This article is really too "mo lei tau" to become a weekly collaboration. The "Filipinos in Hong Kong" article may be more intersting to foreign readers.
- CrossTimer 15:45, 8 August 2005 (UTC) - Think of the readers - and particularily whom you're trying to target to, or how information like this one could actually help one another. Cantonese-learners? Put this phrase in Wikibook instead of here for learners. For others, I see no point to expand this article: a brief understanding of this "mo lei tau" is already enough for the very few who would surprisingly be interested in such an article. Another note: it is true that Wikipedia is attempting to get all human knowledge into itself; but think about the value of the knowledge. How to "cry" like a baby does is a piece of knowledge, but nobody would attmept to put it here. I believe we should also consider the value of the knowledge before attempting to encyclopedize it, as in this case, I belive that "mo lei tau" is not suitable.
- Comment Well, "mo lei tau" itself is not "mo lei tou", Crosstimer and Alanmak. In fact, there's a heated discussion across the Chinese territory after the great success of the moive "Journey to the West" (In the PRC, it's known as "Dai Hua Xi Yau"). Stephen Chow was even invited by several prestigeous university in the mainland to talk about the core value of "mo lei tau", which is, as Chow said in a seminar, "creating chaos and disruption in real life without breaking the rules of the game", and "an act to show dissatifaction and complaints to the fixed system and red tapes". I think "mo lei tau" is perfect to collaborate, particularly after Chow has been interviewed by Time and CNN Asia in order. But the main reason why I didn't vote for support is that even Chow, the master of "mo lei tau" has not yet clearly defined the main tenor of his own-created concept, or made any detailed theses. -- Jerry Crimson Mann 16:41, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

- I've been trying to encyclopedize this article but still can't give a decent sense of the comedy style, or explain why the examples are funny, or relate it to western comedy styles, or give any history outside of stephen chow! Niz 23:11, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- This is very interesting topic, indeed, and a topic which is difficult to encyclopedise...after all, research or papers about moleitou is rare; no official conclusion or public consensus is reached up to the moment. -- Jerry Crimson Mann 05:34, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- is that a support vote, then? Niz 12:06, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I think this is quite an article to be collaborated as it's really difficult to write! --Deryckchan 2005-06-29 11:03:00 (UTC)

- The Urban Council and the Regional Urban Council played an important role in Hong Kong before their dismissal. They are part of the history of Hong Kong. It is worthwhile to write good articles for them. But should we combine the two councils into one article or keep them separated in two articles? - Alanmak 08:22, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
- The name is actually Regional Council. The Urban Council, including its predecessor, has much longer history than the Regional Council, although their role was similar after the Regional Council was founded. IMHO they'd better be two articles. — Instantnood 08:27, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

- Buses have been always an important kind of transportation in Hong Kong throughout the time. The development of bus transport is also pretty unique - different from that in a lot of cities in foreign countries. It is worthwhile to write a good article about the history of bus transport in Hong Kong. -Alanmak 05:04, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
- Agree with Alanmak. HK system is quite unique in the high proportion of privately operated buses. I would definitely be interested in reading an about of this topic - novacatz 10:11, 24 August 2005 (UTC)

- I would like to nominate Hongkonger, because you'd think it's a central and important topic (I would say term, but Wikipedia is supposed to be more than mere definitions), and because it seems to be slightly neglected and also ambiguous. -Ajshm 16:27, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
- I put the NPOV dispute there because I feel some of the content could use some fixing. More contributors to this article would help sort the content out and I will offer suggestions and contribute too. --Mintchocicecream 18:27, 26 August 2005 (UTC)

- I was surpised this very influential figure in Hong Kong action cinema had a very sparse article. I added as much as I could, but much more can be said about his influence and his films. Catherine breillat 00:02, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- I agree! He deserves a much better article. Come on, he is the choreographer of many high profile world class movies such as The Matrix troligy, Kill Bill and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and many Hong Kong classics like Kung Fu Hustle, Snake in the Eagle's Shadow and Drunken Master. etc. The article deserves more attention in order let us know more about this great man. #Hammer 19:43, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
