Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:SMALLCAT, currently each of the two categories contains one article about a defunct nightclub. Merging is not needed, the two articles are already in Category:Defunct LGBT nightclubs in the United States and Category:LGBT history in Nebraska/North Carolina.   • I am not disputing definingness, but definingness is a necessary criterion, not a sufficient criterion. Categories can be merged/deleted by any criterion in WP:OCAT, not just by WP:NONDEF. I am disputing the smallcat exception here, first because many book articles are not in a book by author category so it isn't that well accepted, and second for the reason I mentioned earlier.
