Government schools Sri Lanka are split into national schools (those controlled by the national government) and provincial schools (those controlled by the provincial government). This is why Category:Government schools in Sri Lanka has been sub-categorised into Category:National schools in Sri Lanka and Category:Provincial schools in Sri Lanka. All the articles currently appearing under Category:Public schools in Sri Lanka have already been categorised into one of Category:National schools in Sri Lanka / Category:Provincial schools in Sri Lanka / Category:Private schools in Sri Lanka.
