The result was delete. While this result may well be biased by the lack of English-language sources, there's good consensus here to delete. The two people arguing to keep are mostly saying, With 5000 seats, it must be notable, but that's not an argument which convinced the other discussants. -- RoySmith (talk) 17:30, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

This article's subject may not be notable per the guidelines at WP:NBUILD. Google searching "Monastir Indoor Sports Hall" did not return any significant coverage of the subject. It appears to have been nominated for deletion under WP:PROD under a different article name, was blocked by the creator, and later moved for unrelated reasons. The editor who created the article has since retired.
Because the subject is located in a non-English-speaking country, a lack of readily available articles in English may be a symptom of WP:WORLDVIEW as opposed to a lack of notability, so despite nominating this article for deletion, I'd particularly invite arguments for keep, especially if reliable sources can be found in other languages. Yeah we need an Arabic speaker. A quick search with the name translated into Arabic gives 110,000 hits, which might or might not prove something. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:30, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
- It's entirely possible for there to be lots of trivial coverage because it's the stadium of a more notable handball team. Unfortunately, a lot of the search results didn't allow me to copy the text in order to translate it. signed, Rosguilltalk 19:01, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
- Weak keep. Not an Arabic speaker but I think WP:WORLDVIEW comes into play. If this were in an English-speaking a country a stadium with seating capacity for 5000 with regular tenants would almost certainly merit inclusion.Citing (talk) 14:30, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

Relisting comment: Final relist . Looks like Arabic sources cannot be assessed without an Arabic speaker .

- Delete Fails WP:GNG with lack of significant coverage in multiple, independent sources. Without coverage, it fails WP:NBUILD as it has not been named as a heritage site. The essay WP:WORLDVIEW points out our biases as editors, but it cannot compensate for the lack of identified coverage in the whole month this AfD has been open. It's also slightly ominous that this would be an WP:ORPHAN if not for its trivial listing in List of indoor arenas in Africa.—Bagumba (talk) 10:56, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep. An arena with a capacity of 5,000 is notable. James500 (talk) 18:31, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- Is that even an essay?—Bagumba (talk) 04:44, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
- Comment FWIW, the same creator has recently had other articles on sports facilities deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Béni Khiar Indoor Sports Hall and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aryanah Indoor Sports Hall, as well as PRODs of Radès Taoufik Bouhima Indoor Sports Complex, Sayada Indoor Sports Complex.—Bagumba (talk) 04:58, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
- Delete. No stated basis for notability. No significant coverage. WP:NBUILD indicates that buildings are not inherently notable, quite the reverse. Saying a 5,000 person capacity arena is inherently notable is contrary to the guidelines. --Bejnar (talk) 02:25, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

- Weak Delete. WP:WORLDVIEW may be coming into play here, or perhaps they just don't write directly about stadiums in such a glorifying way in other cultures. Without sources in Arabic it is hard to say. Google translate isn't helping me find anything. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 16:31, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
