Fails WP:LISTN. This is a really odd list. As the lead states, this is a list of "Latin names of lakes that did not exist when Latin was a living language." We don't need a list of hypothetical Latin names for lakes the ancient Romans didn't know existed. Hog Farm (talk) 02:33, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

- Delete. Some of these lakes are in Italy or Switzerland and were known to the ancient Romans, while others are in the U.S. or Canada, but there is no particular need for this list in either case. If someone wants to know the Latin name for a lake, we have interlanguage links and the Latin Wikipedia for that. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 03:45, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
- Delete per nom/Met90, coming from someone who's studied Latin. Wiktionary also provides translations. I don't think it's our place to be a dictionary of Latin or neo-Latin terms, which to some extent may be original research. For places known to the Romans, it may be fair to include the ancient name in the history section, but we don't need to list it. Should we add List of Latin names of regions, List of Latin names of islands, List of Latin names of cities etc to this? I do see many equally low-quality or worse articles linked from Exonym and endonym like Italian exonyms, List of German exonyms for places in Belgium, and List of German exonyms for places in Denmark. I likewise fail to see why we need to list these basic translations available in many places. Reywas92Talk 04:52, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
