Nearly all the sources are offline, but from the headlines, they appear to be mostly notices. The only exception is the obituary in the Boston Globe, but if he were truly notable, where are the ones in other newspapers? Clarityfiend (talk) 13:05, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

- Comment. The Boston Globe archives are available on-line and I've added the links to the article. Without regard to the obit, there was SIGCOV in the Globe. E.g. [1], [2], [3]. Cbl62 (talk) 14:21, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
- Evaluating... some currently in the article do appear by title to be "transaction" or "notices" or "and finnaly" type articles. The sources that Cbl shows appear to be feature articles. I'm going with keep and passes WP:GNG based on additional sources provided above. It looks like he might be more remarkable for his civil service than sports... but press coverage is press coverage.--Paul McDonald (talk) 15:31, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
- The only thing that holds me back from taking a keep position is that the SIGCOV found so far is all from one newspaper. For a GNG pass, it would be best to have at least one other reliable, independent source with SIGCOV. Cbl62 (talk) 03:36, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- Keep based on the sources provided by user:Cbl62. Clearly enough to pass WP:GNG Frank Anchor 03:30, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- Keep he was a co-champion, I say he is important enough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sportsfangnome (talk • contribs) 13:03, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
