How do you stop convicted felons from removing references to their crimes?

How do you stop convicted felons from removing references to their crimes on their own wikipedia page (in this case subject is on the run)? XXX8906 has been recorded as dealing with vandalism on the page of someone whose otherwise previously untarnished reputation has been destroyed following their conviction in a UK court for child sex abuse. The 'vandalism', if at all, is being perpetrated by that convicted individual themselves who otherwise also clearly wrote their wiki entry in the first place since it contains details of childhood experience that only the biographer of a hugely significant figure (like a world leader) would have ever taken the time to find out.

So: what does anyone do on wiki in a case like this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brian mantis (talk • contribs) 10:04, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Thank you for all of the time and energy that you spend towards reverting vandalism, cleaning up bad-faith edits, and keeping the project free of disruption. This is a very thankless task to perform, and it certainly isn't for everyone. :-) I note that you've had some slip ups and dings in your past regarding policy and trust, but I encourage you to keep doing what you're doing now, and that you continue to work on making good contributions in order to gain that trust back. If you're as committed with moving on from the past and being a legitimate positive contributor moving forward as I hope that you are, then I believe that time will eventually heal things and that you'll come completely out of this someday. Just keep working hard, and let me know if you have any questions or need my input or guidance with anything - I'll be happy to help. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 09:25, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Xuyuan71 (talk) 15:31, 24 November 2019 (UTC) I'm not sure how I'm supposed to respond to your request to delete my page, Digital Sinology. This is not simply a self-interest post, but a post for a community of Digital Sinologists - I want to make available an open space where Digital Sinologists can keep track of major projects and resources. There is a community of over 1,000 University professors, graduate students and scholars around the world who actively contribute to an FB page on the topic, but we have no way of pinning descriptions and links to the major tools and resources, and crowdsourcing such descriptions. This is intended as a community service, and once the community starts using this wikipedia page, it will take off. I don't understand why you hav marked it for deletion, nor do I see the mark on the page.[reply]

Xuyuan71 (talk) 16:09, 24 November 2019 (UTC) I saw your update on my page. Thanks kindly for the feedback and explanation. I'm looking forward to seeing this wiki page take off. Best wishes.[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Mike Kennedy (repo man)

Hello XXX8906,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mike Kennedy (repo man) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can , but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Gravity Games Bike: Street Vert Dirt into List of video games notable for negative reception. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 23:05, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Man Vs Bear moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Man Vs Bear, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Vandalism

Cut the sneaky vandalism. --2 Tongue Tim (talk) 19:22, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Caroline Maher, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Victoria University (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:01, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aw, you took away my unusual barnstar

I mean not everyone gets an offer of a bullet through their skull, do they? I was so tempted to revert you. That sort of post I would wear happily as a badge of pride. I've helped block two Nazis/anti-semites today. Doug Weller talk 19:53, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Man Vs Bear

Hello, XXX8906. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Man Vs Bear".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 18:24, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Kings of Pain has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sources are all WP:PRIMARY. Tagged for notability for 3 years

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
