Sorry, for the mistake. I ment killoton of uranium (in some countries a ',' is used as decimal point, so that confused me). But still, the conversion is incorrect. 1 ton is 1000 kilo and 1 kilo is more than 2 pounds. So you should have more pounds than kilos IMHO Lkruijsw (talk) 21:19, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, again. I see now that it is not a metric ton. Weird, converting a non-metric value to another non-metric value Lkruijsw (talk) 21:26, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Me again, numbers are not correct. A non-metric ton is almost equal to a metric ton. So, someone made the conversion wrong. Lkruijsw (talk) 21:53, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
I checked the report.
486,500 tonnes grading 17.38%!!!!
280,000 tonnes grading 26.33%!!!!
So, except for the factor 1000 (sorry, for that), my number was correct.
22:54, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Do, you agree in changing:
766,500 tonnes U3O8 at an average grade of 20.66%
into
766,500 tonnes grading 20.66% U3O8 at average
? (same wording as in the report)
Because, 766,500 tonnes U3O8 is incorrect, you have 766,500 uranium ore, not U3O8. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lkruijsw (talk • contribs) 23:06, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Motto of the day
Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.
When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.
If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:52, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I've placed colons in the category links on User:Turgan/Sandbox2 so the page doesn't show up on the category pages. When you are ready to go live (move to mainspace), simply remove the colons. Vsmith (talk) 22:43, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you placed a message tag on the top of the article I just created. Why did you do this?--I Really Love You, And I Mean You (talk) 15:15, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Hi there, I reviewed your artical as part of the New Page patrol program. I placed the notability tag on your article when I reviewed it to point out an area that needed to be addressed to aviod deletion of your article. This is another way of helping editors improve thier additions. I see this has been addressed, so the tag can be removed. The AfD tag someone else added, however, can not be removed yet. Please feel free to comment on that discussion as well. Turgan Talk 10:50, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks a lot Turgan
The name of Northern Cyprus was legally changed to North Cyprus and all relevant changes are gradually performed about this (Like http://www.northcyprus.com , http://www.northcyprus.org etc. ) Unfortunately, there is no BOT to make all the necessary changes in Wikipedia at once. So, I change the necessary shifting one by one. Then, I redirect all "Northern"s to "North"s. Thx a lot for your sensitivity. Cheapfriends (talk) 14:03, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- You are very right: Your suggestion is very nice and practical. Unfortunately, admins of Wikipedia are so slow that they lag behind the legal changes. There are two ways as you mentioned:
- 1: MOVE of the old page to the new name, and delete the old one.
- 2: RECREATE the old page and then REDIRECT the old page to NEW page or delete the old one completely.
- I mentioned this issue in [[1]]. The users who are aware of the change supported the 2nd way since the number of articles on NC is not so high and changes can be done very fast.
- If the page is moved, the old page automatically redirects to the new name. Once your account has been active for a few days, you can do the move yourself. An admin is not required for a page move. Just suggesting ways that might be a bit easier on you, and will maintain the integrity of the article. Turgan Talk 14:19, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar, glad to see it getting put to use (and that someone noticed the category sorting I had been attempting). I made it when I saw Theseeker4 doing some major overhaul work on mining, eliminating the US-centricity and what not, seemed like a good fit for the project (and a good opportunity for me to test out Paint.net). I see by your talk page you are from Nova Scotia, my wife is from Pictou County, we get back there fairly frequently (although not as frequent as I would like). Hope you are enjoying Australia, I am hoping to get there some time.--kelapstick (talk) 15:30, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- The star turned out very well. Hopefully it gets some good use. Yes, I am originally from the Annapolis Valley, however my parents are both from Pictou County. It is a very small world. Nova Scotia is a nice province. I try to get back there when I can, however it is usually in the winter. Turgan Talk 00:35, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Page moves
Hi Turgan, I saw your comment on the Anaconda move discussion, when we have to move pages once we decide on naming conventions they qualify for speedy deletion under G6 to make way for uncontroversial moves (Template:Db-g6). For example, to move Anaconda Copper to Anaconda Copper Mining Company, on Anaconda Copper Mining Company put {{db-move|Anaconda Copper|As per discussion at [[Talk:Anaconda Copper#Requested move]]}}, hope this helps.--kelapstick (talk) 07:14, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- That is good to know. I never checked the CSD criteria to see if there was one that will cover this. I have come across several others that are in the same situation. Turgan Talk 12:58, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
UN numbers
Hi Turgan
Thanks for the message. I tried looking for the 3401 onwards page, and so on but couldn't see it. It was getting a bit late and I must have missed it completely. Anyhow, 3301 to 3500 was all I could see on my screen, I swear! So I ploughed ('plowed') on regardless, although you may have noticed I have put the proper shipping names in bold and any ancillary information remains in whatever you call not bold :)
I plan to go through the whole of the list to check for errors and do the same 'bold' thing as my current additions, along with a footnote explaining why. Then I'll hypertext it up a bit more, ideally linking to Hazard Data Sheet-type information. Unless the UN come and tell me off first...
May I ask, what is your interest in UN numbers? I thought I was the world's only chemical tanker spotter...
Tekmeme...*tm
Edit: Aha... mining?
PS I looked at your link and the information there is incomplete. I propose that my edit replace the incomplete page and be divided up into a replacement 3301 to 3400 page and, in agreement with your suggestion, a separate page for numbers 3401 onwards. I may need a little help in achieving this...

Mineral exploration
I saw your note about advertisement on Mineral exploration. Same editor did this on mining, I was more concerned with the copyright violation (as opposed to promotional content), as it was "cut and pasted" from the source. I have rewritten it now to remove that issue, but I am unsure if we should use that report as an RS for defining major, intermediate and junior mining companies (as it is just one companies opinion). Might be good for now, but if we find something better in the future it would be worth adjusting. Cheers --kelapstick (talk) 15:58, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Polly Lauder Tunney
Hi there. I understand where you are coming but I have to disagree with you. First, the NYT has two obit sections, one for paid obits and one for non-paid (i.e. notable people) obits. The NYT obit for Polly Lauder Tunney comes from the non-paid independent obit section. Jack Cavanaugh is one of the nyt's major sports journalists. He doesn't write paid obits. The second obit was done by the Associated Press which does not write paid obits. These are independent sources. This isn't a case of a family putting in a death announcement. This is a journalist reporting on the life and death of a notable person. Singingdaisies (talk) 13:15, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I however still question notability when the only thing I can find is an obituary. If they are truely notable, other than being rich and married to a notable person, then there should be be other sources out there. My point still stands. Turgan Talk 13:28, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Just go to the NYT archives, Chicago Tribune archives, and womens magazines back in the 1920s and 1930s. Any little thing that happened to her was in the news. She was a celebrity back then. The media made a big deal out of her. This is one of those cases where the media itself made her into a public icon. She and her husband were sort of the Brad and Angelina of the 1920s. (although obviously Angelina Jolie is notable in her own right, but in terms of the press following a couple around everywhere its a good comparison). I'm sure there have got to be some mentions of her in printed works covering the pop culture of America in the 1920s.Singingdaisies (talk) 13:47, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- If this is the case, then someone who has the time to dig into the archives should have no trouble providing additional sources to improve the article. I personally don't have time to dig that far back while "on patrol", which is why I tagged it for additional sources for verification of notability. Cheers, Turgan Talk 05:46, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's not hard to find stuff about the couple; but that to me implies that there should be a section about the relationship in the Tunney article; I don't think she can be argued to be notable separate from Gene. --Orange Mike | Talk 12:48, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Uranium mines in Canada
Hi, Turgan. You have created several articles about the uranium mines in Canada, which currently includes only infoboxes. This is not enough for inclusion them as Wikipedia articles. I am not going to nominate these articles for deletion rigth now, but they really needs some work to be done for inclusion. Thank you. Beagel (talk) 08:41, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I created those last week with the intention of expanding them a lot sooner than this. It is a work in progress that will be accomplished very shortly. Thank you for reminding me about them. Turgan Talk 08:44, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Mines generally don't qualify as notable businesses, so those would have been speedied anyway. --Orange Mike | Talk 12:40, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have never seen an article about a mine deleted as the result of a deletion discussion, in fact I have never seen a deletion discussion initiated about a mine in the first place (if you know of any examples I would like to see them, out of interest to see what took place and what arguments were used on both sides). It is pretty easy to assert importance of a mine in an article, however in most cases they pass the general notability guidelines (mines get a lot of press in both business journals, mining related magazines and local papaers), which they have to in order to support inclusion as there is no specific inclusion criteria for mines. --kelapstick (talk) 13:56, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Turgan, if you do recreate Denison Mine again, here is a source from The Simcoe Reformer that says it was the largest uranium producer in the world (in 1974). Also mindat (which I wouldn't use as a source) combines the Can-Met mine and the Stanrock mine here, I don't know much about EL, but wonder if it changed names at some point in time.--kelapstick (talk) 18:55, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- In the 60's and 70's Elliot Lake was THE place for uranium production in the world. The town never changed names, but was planned community built in the 50's by and for the mines. There ended up being 12 uranium mines in the immediate area, and one more (Angnew Lake) further east. Turgan Talk 23:19, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- I meant maybe the mine changed names not Elliot Lake. I know a little about Elliot Lake, never been there but drove by the turnoff on hwy 17 a ouple times, and I know a couple people who worked at Dennison, one in the 60s and one just before it closed. Maybe userfication of the deleted articles is an option until you get the sources lined up. kelapstick (talk) 23:29, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ahh, got ya. I thought Can-Met and Stanrock might be the same mine as well, however after a bit of research they are in fact separate, but very close together. Yes, userfication is a good idea. Turgan Talk 00:17, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

- Based on this deletion discussion for the Spanish American Mine I have already gone through, I would say they are classed as notable businesses worthy of articles. I had hoped that by conversing with you directly, I could avoid the more formal deletion review process. There are plenty of references available for all 4 deleted mines, including those for the other 8 in the area that have survived. I was just slow in getting the articles up to snuff, and of course, failed to include references with my stubs. I would rather have them restored than recreate them, but I will be doing that shortly if all else fails. Turgan Talk 05:03, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Bryce Harper
Hey... just wanted to let you know, about the Bryce Harper page I created and that YOU you had submitted for speedy deletion... Remember? You had written that "the relevance outside the local Las Vegas area is questionable" and "he is a high school student with the potential to become a professional athelete in the future". Well... Now Bryce Harper is on the front page of Sports Illustrated this week. Why don't you get a life and stop trying to delete pages about baseball when you clearly are clueless about baseball? Yeah... A high school student who hits 570 ft home runs and graces the front page of Sports Illustrated... Terveetkadet (talk)
- I refer you to the comment by JamesBWatson on your talk page. That sums it up nicely. Turgan Talk 22:52, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey Idiot!!! Bryce Harper was the first pick of this year's MLB Draft and he just signed a 9.9 million $ contract with the Washington Nationals... Terveetkadet (talk) 19:49, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- Wow, March 2009 to August 2010. A lot can happen in a young career in a year and a half, including becoming notable. No great suprise there. Why resurrect a closed issue and attack me for something I reviewed a year and a half ago? No point in holding a grudge. That really does not accomplish anything. Turgan Talk 12:37, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
I've got to tell you that I truly appreciate you voting in favor of keeping the Maddison Gabriel page I created even with the not so nice messages that I wrote on your talk page. This is a nice gesture from your side. One of the reasons why I hate having pages I created deleted (especially the "speedy-deletion" thing that appears almost automatically seconds after a page has been created) is this: most of those page can be improved through time. I think it's a shame having some work destroyed so a person has to start again all the way from the beginning to revive the page. Anyway... That probably sums my thoughts and opinions better than the angry messages I left you since a year and a half. Again, thanks for that help Terveetkadet (talk) 14:29, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- No worries, I felt that one met the guidelines. I judge every article I review or AfD discussion I add to on it's merits and compliance with Wikipedia guidelines. I like to think I am fair. I typically do a search for additional sources to see if I can improve an article myself before recommending a deletion. I think I actually fix more than I tag for deletion. I know what it is like to have pages you are working hard on deleted. It is best to have them up to snuff right from the start, therefore there can be no arguement. I was told in an AfD discussion for one article I started to ensure one of the first things included is at least two independant verifiable sources. I still see the new page patrol as necessary, especially when you consider the amount of garbage that gets added every day. The biggest issues come with biographies of living people. They can be contentious, so not as much leeway is given before recommending a deletion. Turgan Talk 01:23, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
Nice place but rather expensive to live in however. I lived there for about 13 or so months but ended up moving back to New South Wales (but hope to move back there again one day). If you have a camera would you be able to get some photos (Places such as the Darwin Convention Centre, the old site of Darwin Hospital [Near Larrakeyah Army/Navy Base])? Four Mile uranium mine
I created Four Mile uranium mine before I saw that you had a draft version in your userspace. Your contribution would be much appreciated. I found this source] which I would like to integrate into the article but sentences like "The Four Mile Project currently has a resource of 3.9 Mt at 0.37% U3O8 for 15 000 t, or 32 Mlb of U3O8 within the Four Mile West deposit." baffle me. That picture would make a great DYK picture for the main page. Cheers.--kelapstick (talk) 15:31, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Also I saw some stuff you have been working on in New Brunswick, you don't need to add ", New Brunswick" if there is no other mine of that name, also per WP:MINESTYLE and WP:CANCITY we use (New Brunswick) for mines (and other geographical features) and ",New Brunswick" for cities/towns. Cheers. --kelapstick (talk) 16:45, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Doh, I forgot about the style difference. Thanks for the reminder. I had to add New Brunswick to a few as when I was searching for online references I discovered there was more than one, just not all with Wikipedia articles yet. Turgan Talk 23:30, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Here is a list to help explain:
- Golden Wedge Mine, Eagle County, Colorado [3]
- Wedge Mine, Ouray County, Colorado [4]
- Caribou, Colorado, town and silver mine of same name. Potential to separate.
- Caribou Mines, Nova Scotia gold mining
- I see the predicament, there is also the option to put the main comodity in the article title, my suggestion would be (capitalize as you desire):
- Golden Wedge Mine
- Wedge Mine (Colorado)
- Wedge Mine (New Brunswick)
- Wedge Mine becomes a DAB page with the three above listed
- Caribou silver mine - for CO
- Caribou gold mine - for NS
- Caribou zinc mine - for NB
- Caribou Mine becomes a DAB page
- You may want to move them and make the DAB pages now, or wait until the new ones are ready (I suppose it depends on how long you are going to wait to make them.) Let me know if you need some help with anything.--kelapstick (talk) 15:31, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- I will make those changes in the next week or so iff all goes well. Just want to find some more detailed references. Cheers Turgan Talk 05:00, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oh and I added a {{distinguish}} hat note to Caribou Mine and Caribou Mines, Nova Scotia, to be changed to {{otheruse}} (or something) when the dab page is created.--kelapstick (talk) 16:07, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Page Blanked For A Reason
I blanked the Talk: Jay Jennings page because it's contents was of an early discussion between two parties (myself and another editor) about 'sourcing'. The matter was later cleared-up and resolved by both parties. It's contents are past tense and aren't relevent anymore. We have both moved on. There is no reason for an old, obsolete conversation to remain on the talk page. Timemachine1967 (talk) 07:49, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- That may be so, however we do not blank article talk pages as per Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. The page serves as an archive of past discussions. It is against policy to remove comments of others. The only talk page you can blank is your own, and even then, archiving is prefered. Cheers Turgan Talk 12:05, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

I understand you might believe I was expressing a point of view. But I was purely correcting the article. Indeed, islamic manpower didn't "noticeably" helped; they participated in only 3% of after war reconstruction. You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

question about warnings
I have a message claiming to have made an edit that's marked as Vandalism and I never made such an edit.
I have NO idea what or who GREEN ANGEL is.
Here's the message I got:
Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Green Angel, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted (undone) by ClueBot NG.
- Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
- ClueBot NG produces very few false positives, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been detected as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
- The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Green Angel was changed by 99.61.50.107 (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.952515 on 2011-01-31T05:41:58+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 05:42, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
The recent edit you made to Green Angel constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Turgan Talk 05:45, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
This is a bummer. I do not want to be identified as someone who makes bad or vandalizing edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.61.50.107 (talk) 20:39, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- On 31 January, your IP address was used to make two vandalism edits to the article Green Arrow. The warnings were posted in relation to those. The best way to avoid being linked to that IP address would be to create an account. Turgan Talk 14:16, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Wikiproject Mining
Hey, I frequent "WP:Requested Articles" and noticed that List of mines was requested, I looked but couldn't find it on Wikipeda, so I went ahead and created it as a redirect to Lists of mines. I noticed that there is a large number of potential articles missing, so I went ahead and made a sub-page of Lists of mines with red links to articles List of Foo mines and List of mines in Bar articles. I was wondering, since you're part of the mining wikiproject, if you'd like to help create/start some or at least raise awareness with others that may be interested? Thanks. Oh sorry - I've been talking to the other user who said our Midtown West page was 'disambiguation' I don't understand how a party can make that decision. I've asked for an explanation but all I get is it is similar to another page. That other page was actually started as Midtown West in 2009. We never complained when it was changed to West Midtown. We (Midtown West Assoc) are an actual physical location in Atlanta. [6]. Can you help me resolve this and get our page back up? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Midtownwest1 (talk • contribs) 01:53, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
- I have to agree with the other users who have reverted your changes. It is my understanding that both pages refer to the same area, so one page is sufficient. Why not expand West Midtown, instead of recreating it. If you disagree with the name, I suggest you make a case at Wikipedia:Requested moves to have the article moved back to Midtown West. Speedy deletion declined: Denny Moss
Hello Turgan. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Denny Moss, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This is not a copyright infringement as the source says it is taken from Wikipedia! It appears to be a hoax, though, and I shall PROd or G3 it. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 22:21, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- I question how that website got it from wikipedia when the wikipedia article was just created yesterday. Additionally, by the creators own admission, the subject is not notable in its own right, which is how I originally tagged it. The wikipedia reference was the only hit I got on google.
