Richmond Green Secondary School Principal

Hello ThriftyCat,

I am writing this to inform you that your rollback is unnecessary. I have cited the source and am a student at the school. Here is a link to the school's official website in which state that the principal is Daraius Bharucha. [1]

Kind regards, A student of RGSS 99.209.131.234 (talk) 18:28, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for the error. I've restored your version. Thanks for correcting me. Thriftycat Talk • Contribs 18:31, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've also gone ahead and updated the superintendent's name. Thriftycat Talk • Contribs 18:34, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rye College

Hello ThriftyCat,

@82.38.214.252 and @Rambling Rambler have been edit warring in the Rye College article. Yesterday you made a rollback of edits by @82.38.214.252 because of unexplained content removal but I think you made a mistake.

While the IP user did remove some content from the 'gender identity controversy' section, prior to that they restored it after the removal of the whole section by Rambler. Your rollback reverted all the edits by the IP user, though, so now this section isn't there at all.

I restored the section while removing a part that was clearly biased, and started a section on the talk page to build consensus as there's an edit war. Amberkitten (talk) 17:30, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Amberkitten - Yes, that's fine. Sorry about that--it may have been a misclick or I may have been confused by the IP making multiple edits. I don't really have an opinion on the content dispute itself. Thriftycat Talk • Contribs 17:33, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. The edit history is confusing indeed, I had to take a couple minutes to wrap my head around it. Amberkitten (talk) 17:36, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for the Conrad A. Nervig Image

Thank you so much for posting that Public Domain image of Conrad in the Wikipedia page. That one picture helped me research more about this editor. As an aspiring film editor, it's amazing how so little detail there is these articles. Mr. Conrad A. Nervig was the first Oscar winning editor, and his military involvement wasn't even mentioned before today's edits by myself. Plus, that picture had a great article about his two wives. You're welcome Yoshiman6464! The Wikipedia Library is just magical :) ⟲ Three Sixty! Talk? Work. 20:19, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And nice job destubbing the article; great to see it gradually expanding throughout the day! ⟲ Three Sixty! Talk? Work. 20:20, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Three Sixty: BIIIIG Update. I reached out to some Wikipedia editors to see if they want to help collaborate with me. Here is a message that I sent one of them:

I found an insanely useful resource that could help both of us. It's called the ACE Second Decade Anniversary Book. It has many biographies and deaths of various film editors that have never been posted on the internet before. Disclaimer, some of the death dates may be inaccurate. For example, they listed Alma Macrorie's death date as September 12, 1969 instead of June 28, 1970. But from my research, the rest of the death dates are accurate.

Here's some changes that I've made using that book as a source:

Let me know if you want to collaborate with me, and we can knock these editors out of the park. Yoshiman6464 ♫🥚 01:33, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yoshiman6464, you're definitely the subject-matter specialist here, but I'd love to help out where I can! How are you accessing the book? ⟲ Three Sixty! Talk? Work. 11:05, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Three Sixty: I found a copy of it on eBay. Yoshiman6464 ♫🥚 11:17, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for the "Thanks"

A really neat thing about the ACE Second Decade Anniversary Book is that it lacked a copyright date anywhere in the book. I have the actual physical copy. Because of this, I now have a trove of editors images that would benefit MANY of the earlier editors on the site. You should check my most recent contributions on Wikipedia Commons - Which you can see here! Yoshiman6464 ♫🥚 15:16, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Our new champion is AirshipJungleman29 (submissions), who scored 2,283 points mainly through 3 high-multiplier FAs and 3 GAs on military history topics. By a 1% margin, Airship beat out last year's champion, Delaware BeanieFan11 (submissions), who scored second with 2,264 points, mainly from an impressive 58 GAs about athletes. In third place, Generalissima (submissions) scored 1,528 points, primarily from two FAs on U.S. Librarians of Congress and 20 GAs about various historical topics. Our other finalists are: Sammi Brie (submissions) with 879 points, Canada Hey man im josh (submissions) with 533 points, BennyOnTheLoose (submissions) with 432 points, Arconning (submissions) with 244 points, and Christmas Island AryKun (submissions) with 15 points. Congratulations to our finalists and all who participated!

The final round was very productive, and contestants had 7 FAs, 9 FLs, 94 GAs, 73 FAC reviews, and 79 GAN reviews and peer reviews. Altogether, Wikipedia has benefited greatly from the activities of WikiCup competitors all through the contest. Well done everyone!

All those who reached the final will receive awards and the following special awards will be made, based on high performance in particular areas of content creation. So that the finalists do not have an undue advantage, these prizes are awarded to the competitor who scored the highest in any particular field in a single round, or in the event of a tie, to the overall leader in this field.

Next year's competition will begin on 1 January. You are invited to sign up to participate; the WikiCup is open to all Wikipedians, both novices and experienced editors, and we hope to see you all in the 2025 competition. Until then, it only remains to once again congratulate our worthy winners, and thank all participants for their involvement!
