Consensus vs facts
How can the same article say that County Dublin is no longer a legal county but also that it remains a county? Consensus cannot mean ‘in denial’ GAAEditorIE (talk) 19:49, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

- In addition to Spleodrach's point about discussions on WT:IE, I also refer you to the FAQ "What is the status of County Dublin?" heading on the Talk:County Dublin page. This issue has been discussed there at least 8 times and the current framing is what has been agreed. (ie that Dublin is a current cultural / colloquial county that retains limited official use rather than strictly being a former legal county). Jacobfrid (talk) 08:46, 11 October 2024 (UTC)

Sockpuppet alert
You'd think we could wait till we get through the general before editing the presidential election almost a year away! FYI, the account who added the speculative information to 2025 Irish presidential election has been confirmed as that recurring sockpuppet account. Just a reminder that WP:INFONAT states that |nationality= shouldn't be placed in biography infoboxes. |citizenship= can be used, but only if the subject of the article holds citizenship of a state that wouldn't be obvious to the reader based on where they live. Count Plunkett
Hi there - I noticed you've undone my changes with comment "name only, no title". Please see: https://www.dib.ie/biography/plunkett-count-george-noble-a7384 It is Wikipedia guidelines that a title of nobility that is part of the person's name and identity is included in the lead. - I see, however Wikpedia official guidelines state that the title needs to be in the lead as part of the name.

- Papal nobility would be classed as "Other cases" Treat other European nobility like British nobility above,
