@Peter Flass:Thanks for these thoughts -- I guess I was thinking that if there are sufficient sources out there that use one or the other, maybe we do need both -- and on the page for Ely S. Parker it says Donehogawa ... seems reasonable that he would have been known by different names throughout his life, as with many other Native Americans. I thought the mid-winter festival was important enough to deserve the extra verbiage. I'm done with this section now. Re:Would like to discuss page deletion

I read your post. First a quick correction: A9 and A11 have nothing to do with your article, A9 is for non-notable musicians and A11 is for made up people or things from accounts who just want their 15 minutes of fame (or shame). The two you had were A7 and G11, the former for credible claim of signifigance, the latter for promotional or promotional leaning material. Looking at this from an admin perspective, the entire conference and event section screams promotional content to me because it looks like an attempt to demonstrate that we can join in on these conference which in turn suggests you're looking to drum up support, which is supported by the facebook link and the general absence of citations in that section anyway. Gutting that leaves the intro, the publications, and the collaboration sections, but the publication section is uncited and the collab section is another list of what looks to an admin like advertisementy stuff (here's who we work with and so forth in that vien). Subtract those two sections and all thats left is the intro, and there I see nothing that suggests credible claims of significance beyond being somehow associated with two universities. This is helpful, User:TomStar81, thank you! It is useful to think about "what would be left if parts were deleted." This will help me when I have future cause to consider creating Wikipedia pages. FWIW, I'm a pretty analytical person, and I appreciate the need for structure and policy. Yet the 'speedy deletion' process was new to me and it didn't feel good. I wish that there had been more direct communication / personal interaction before the page was flagged, or *at least* before it was deleted, especially since I had made edits and was trying to work on it. I have appreciated that in the past when I've made new pages or made edits that weren't quite in line with policy. I know that is more time consuming, but I feel this would support the more inclusive environment Wikipedia is striving for [1]. Thanks again for your work in making this a better space!
