Edit request for Dahua Technology

Hi Rlink2, thank you again for making the requested edits to the Dahua Technology article. The last item was inadvertently left out. I reposted that bullet point along with another suggestion in a new edit request. Would you mind taking a look and implementing if all looks good to you? Thanks again, Caitlyn23 (talk) 23:39, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Caitlyn23
It looks like someone already answered it when I got to it. Is everything you wanted done. If you reword the "partnerships" one then to meet standards maybe I can add it in. Rlink2 (talk) 22:30, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Rlink2, thanks for your reply and continued interest in improving the article. I will consider rewording the sentence about Schwarze Berge Wildlife Park. In the meantime, I do have an outstanding edit request regarding the removal of inaccurate terms which were recently added to the article. Would you please take a look and make the necessary changes? Thank you very much, Caitlyn23 (talk) 23:49, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ghost Archive

Can you explain what Ghost Archive is, and why you are adding it to so many references? You added over 1,000 today alone. Are you using automation, and do you have a WP:CONSENSUS for what you are doing? Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:06, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Beyond My Ken
It's an archive site that has been around for some time. But its not the only site I use. The reason I'm using it for Financial Times is because web.archive.org can not archive financial times properly. I am doing the edits manually via awb as I have also been doing for a while.
As for the policy/consensus I'm following, see Wikipedia:Citing_sources/Further_considerations#Pre-emptive_archiving: The content of any webpage may change at any moment, or disappear completely. To ensure link accessibility and stability, please consider pre-emptively adding an archive URL from an archive source. Along with the fact I get thanked countless times for my archival edits. Rlink2 (talk) 23:35, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. Beyond My Ken (talk) 00:59, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Beyond My Ken: Ghostarchive has been around for only a little over one year. There's a current discussion about it going on at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#Ghostarchive.org, and there was a discussion last January on the topic of your original question at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive1089#Rlink2. Grorp (talk) 02:10, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:41, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am somewhat of a fan of ghostarchive, but I am seeing that a fraction of these archives of ft.com are failing, though they seem to fail in different modes. In some cases, I have successfully re-archived these with ghostarchive, while in other cases, I've been able to use an existing Wayback archive (generally preferring one of the earliest Wayback archives available). With the ghostarchive copies, thereis a popup that you're free to ignore, but if you click on it, you need to click "accept" or you get an error, and that had confused me for a bit).
Nevertheless, manually reviewing these ghostarchive copies (and fixing as needed) is very tedious, and I am completely unfamiliar with any kind of automated/semi-automated processes on WP, so I can only suggest that something needs to be done to either (1) find one of the older Wayback copies which is actually working, or (2) verify that the ghostarchive copy is actually working (and not displaying a page asking you to subscribe). FWIW, if you are making a second ghostarchive copy, there may be an issue if it has the same calendar date (i.e. such that there would be two archive copies that are not distinguished by the date of archive). Workaround for this would be to wait until the date changes or to access the desired version using the internal pathname. Fabrickator (talk) 17:53, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Peace Dove

Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, peoples rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension.
Happy Holidays. ―Buster7  20:59, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Night of Decadence requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.

RfC

I support that "vs" replace "vs." and "v" in boxing match titles.

However, to get consensus on this issue, I've opened an RfC on the issue.

Please comment and offer your opinions on it.

Dates

Hello, can you adjust the script you are using to add archive details to references as it keeps adding dates with leading zeros causing a cite error. See as an example. Many thanks. Keith D (talk) 22:49, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Keith D thank you, for some reason I thought the citation format wanted leading zeros.......... Rlink2 (talk) 22:57, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Concrete categories on Commons

Dear Gun Powder Ma,

I see you are interested in technical subjects and you contributed to Concrete.

Would you maybe be inclined to contribute to the discussions concerning the arrangement of the categories on concrete on Wikimedia Commons which JopkeB lists on my talk page.

We are in need of a native speaker with some insight into the matter as currently me as a German, JopkeB from the Netherlands and a Portugese user are struggling with the correct terminology.

thank you very much for you attention,
