User talk:Peatoneil

My grandfather, Harold Reginald Peat, was born in Jamaica and emigrated to Canada where he enlisted under age in the "Princess Pat" Canadian regiment. Information gleaned from conversation with "Pat" Louisa Watson Foreman Peat O'Neil, HRP's eldest daughter.~~Peatoneil

The article Richard Boly has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. I wouldn't sweat on the trolls asking for the world. Look below at the website I link to for the citation generator - you enter the info on a reference (often a website, sometimes print) and it spits out the code using the cite template which is what the wikipedia purists seem to want to see. Many articles only have web links as their citations (that was the only type of citation available in the early days) but now the gold standard are the cite template ones that have all the info in them. Also they seem to want citations from many differing publications - articles with mostly state.gov links get pummelled so mixing it up (sammies, fednewsradio, etc.) appeases them a bit. Do not get discouraged - I am not a pro here by any means, I just do what I feel like doing. Best of luck, Mikebar (talk) 21:52, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Citations

While putting web links in articles is great for citations, I'd like you to look at the citation generator at http://toolserver.org/~magnus/makeref.php for expanding your citations. Many of the Diplopedia citations (and other articles) were documented using this easy tool. Keep up the good work Mikebar (talk) 17:08, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from writing autobiographical articles, as you did at L. Peat O'Neil. Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged; if you create such an article, it may be deleted. All edits to articles must conform to our policies on no original research, neutral point of view, and avoid conflicts of interest. Please remember that Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia, not a personal webspace provider. If your achievements are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Paste Let’s have a chat. 21:14, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ouch - some of these guys take things overly serious Mikebar (talk) 01:40, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Did any of the Internet published information at Wikimania 2012 display the new Diplopedia logo? If so we can then use that to source a new logo on the Wikipedia page. Mikebar (talk) 18:56, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pat Peat, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page WRAF (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Charles L. English. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:13, 8 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Charles L. English has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. -- Patchy1 02:22, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

moved Nancy Foster draft

Hello. I have moved your draft on Nancy Foster to Draft:Nancy Foster and marked it as promising. The article is not ready for the mainspace, but she is definitely notable and the page would be a good addition to Wikipedia. I am planning to work on the page a little, but would happily share the editing with you if you are still interested in the page. DaffodilOcean (talk) 18:03, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Intercontinental is an investment adviser regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission which includes strict marketing rules. As such we need to either take the Wikipedia page down or be able to lock the content so it cannot be edited by anyone except Intercontinental.

We have tried previously to update the data to be accurate, but non-Intercontiental persons change the data we provide. The content they add is materially inaccurate and greatly impacts Intercontinental’s adherence to the SEC’s marketing rules.

The goal is to either delete the page altogether and set it so that one cannot be created, or lock the page so that only Intercontinental authorized users can make changes to its content.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
