Let me break it down for you
You are obviously new around here, so let me fill you in:
- The network affiliate charts and tables are based on MARKET.
- The tables and charts of co-owned stations are based on CITY OF LICENSE, with the market's main city or cities listed next.
Stations are required by the FCC to identify themselves using their FCC-assigned city of license FIRST. Thus, the tables in the Gannett article, as well as in others (such as Fox Television Stations, Tribune Broadcasting, and Hearst-Argyle Television) are done in this manner. This is the standard and (for all intents and purposes) the consensus.
If you have a problem with how these tables are done, take it up with the Television Stations Wikiproject and leave a message on the talk page. Otherwise, stop reverting accurate edits. Thank you again. Rollosmokes (talk) 05:45, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 05:50, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
RE: Tv discussion board question
I think you're referring to the TV stations project and its talk page, am I correct? Also, if you ever need to get something back that you deleted, the wiki keeps history. Just click on the history tab above, and that will show you all edits to whatever page you're on. dhett (talk • contribs) 20:32, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
RE: KPNX Station ID
I understand what you're saying, but what you're seeing is not the legal top-of-hour station ID. The image I posted in the article is the legal station ID. KPNX can identify themselves in any way that they see fit, but the legal ID is what they display on or near the top of the hour, and that ID is the only one that is supposed to meet FCC guidelines. That ID was not FCC-compliant until recently, but it now is. Please lay it to rest; this topic is getting tiresome: KPNX now uses an FCC-compliant legal station ID. dhett (talk • contribs) 01:55, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- (Wiping the egg off my face) - it turns out that you were correct about the Weather Plus subchannel. Since it was not the top of the hour, I'd assumed that the ID you were referring to was not used as the legal ID. I could have sworn that they displayed the same top-of-hour ID that the analog channel and primary subchannel do. But I was wrong; there is no separate top-of-hour ID on Weather Plus. I have corrected the article accordingly and added a screenshot of the Weather Plus programming. dhett (talk • contribs) 05:05, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Re: KPNX-Edit
"I made a edit of one word "in" the KPNX-TV article and if its undone one more time I will be contacting a adminstrator. I want to make it clear what I changed on the page and why I changed it. I changed the word "for" to the word "in". You may want to look these 2 words up in the dictionary before you read any further. The station is located "in" Phoenix and "in" the Phoenix metro area. Putting "for" does not specify and is incorrect for this sentence. I will change it back if it is reverted as it is improper grammer as well as contacting a administrator."
- First of all, don't patronize me. And don't correct someone on grammar (or as you wrote, "grammer") if you can't get it right yourself.
- Secondly, your changes are incorrect, again. KPNX may serve the Phoenix area, but is is NOT a Phoenix-licensed station. KPNX is licensed to Mesa, not Phoenix, while KTVK, KPHO-TV, KAET, KNXV-TV, KUTP, etc. are.
- You can complain to an administrator all you want. But your aggressive behavior, insistence on reverting to your versions of preference, and refusal to listen to and agree with consensus will only hurt you. You better be careful with what you wish for. Rollosmokes (talk) 17:06, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
