Welcome!
Hello, CALSNewsManager, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

- Hi, Acroterion.
- Thanks for your message. I appreciate it, as there is a learning curve in using Wikipedia.
- I am doing my best to follow all of the conflict of interest rules. As soon as I started my account, I declared my COI on my User Page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:CALSNewsManager
- I also declared my COI on the Talk Page for the UW–Madison College of Ag and Life Sciences, where I work:
- I didn’t make any edits to the college’s Article, but expressed my interest in doing so on the Talk Page. My message read:
- == Would like to fix problems with this page ==
- []
- I am the news manager for the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. It has come to my attention that there are many inaccuracies and omissions in the college's Wikipedia page. I would like to help get this rectified and provide accurate information. Here are a couple of examples: John Rector Brown was never a college leader (we don't know who he is), and we only have 15 departments now and some of their names have recently changed. See: https://cals.wisc.edu/departments/ I would like to help make this Wikipedia article more helpful to readers, aiming for an A class level of content. What is the best way for me to move forward? CALSNewsManager (talk) 20:29, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Because there are so many problems with the college’s Wikipedia Article, I would really appreciate the opportunity to draft a revision of the full article, and have you proofread it – ahead of submission.
- Would you be willing to proofread my draft article – and provide general guidance as I move forward with this? It would be much appreciated.
- I am also going to request to change my username. I chose a bad one – so thanks for pointing that out.
- Thanks,
- Nicole
