Moderation Clarification
Just so you know, I will not be doing the moderating for the In Search of Lost Time dispute (regular users can't, in fact). A cabalist will take up my request for intervention as a neutral third party. Guermantes
- It says on the Mediation Cabal page that it may take a little while for a cabalist to contact us. If it proves to be a useless venture and no one responds, we'll go formal with the mediation. Guermantes 03:32, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- I will comment that I don't think Guermantes was quite accurate in saying that he couldn't mediate because "regular users can't". I think the real issue is that, as a participant in the dispute, his ability to mediate on a neutral basis might have been questioned based on partiality towards one side or the other. I'm just a "regular user" but, since I know nothing about Proust, I think I can claim to be a neutral third party. Richard 08:21, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
In Our Time Proust
Heya. Just thought you might be interested in this British radio show that I referenced in the In Search of Lost Time article. I have a hunch that you might consider it "Proust Lite" but I found it engaging. The MP3 is 41 minutes long and nearly 38MB, so it may take a while to download if your computer is slow. Also, the service that I’ve uploaded it to only allows a limited number of downloads/limited length of time to host the file. Enjoy: Melvyn Bragg - In Our Time - Proust. In Search of Lost Time|2006-02-14 - Offer to mediate
User:Guermantes requested mediation of an apparent dispute/edit war between User:Cubdriver, User:Mcalkins and himself regarding a disagreement about translations of the novel.
I have offered to mediate this dispute in place of User:Soltak who has not responded to his assignment to this mediation task.
Please signify your acceptance of this offer to mediate by either commenting on the mediation page Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-02-14 In Search of Lost Time or on my Talk page User talk:Richardshusr.
I notice that you have already documented your side of this dispute extensively on the mediation page. I have read that already and am awaiting a response from User:Cubdriver regarding his acceptance of my offer to mediate.
For now, all I need from you is your signifying acceptance of my offer to mediate. It's just a formality to ensure that I am not jumping in where I am not wanted.
Thank you.

Thanks for your reply and info about the proposed solution. Has User:Cubdriver agreed to this solution? Nothing would make me happier than not having anything to mediate.
--Richard 03:41, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Since it has been over 10 days since you posted your proposed solution and User:Cubdriver has not responded, I would assume that your solution can be implemented without objection. If User:Cubdriver does object or edit over your text, we can re-open the question of whether a mediation is necessary.
Please implement your proposed solution and then let me know after a few days if anything occurs.
Thanx.
