Kiribati dollars

Coins’ emission of a very small quantity of Kiribati dollars, nearly interrupted since 1989 (for the 10th anniversary of the Republic) is entirely made and organised by Australian authorities as the Kiribati dollar doesn’t exist as a separate currency, but only as a pegged currency to Australian dollar. So if you got any source, it will be interesting to support your recent contributions. thanks for your help. Arorae (talk) 10:59, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Although, the name Bayside Trains was kept until October 2000 and Hillside Trains changed name in July 2000. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 11:00, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter: Thanks for providing these info. I am aware that the name change did not occur until 2000, which is why I put "(government operator)" within those operator tables to distinguish from the post-privatisation entities. It also appears that PTC was only split into those operations on 1 July 1998 as opposed to the October 1997 date that was used across Wikipedia. See this report from the Institue of Public Affairs. Marcnut1996 (talk) 11:12, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Second reference: [1]. Marcnut1996 (talk) 11:19, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks you for those, I was unaware of those. I also didn't know the the Met ones were a year later than V/Line ones. I'll do some more research into this, but I'm happy to change it to 1998 as those documents are reliable.
Also, was Stony Point operated by Bayside Trains? I didn't think they took non-electric lines. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 11:31, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You will also need to double check the operators listed in the top infobox. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 11:33, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ThylacineHunter: Now that I know that PTC was split up on 1 July 1998 and not October 1997, this meant Bayside Trains did not operate Stony Point at all (I previously thought they operated it between October 1997 and July 1998 but this was not possible). And yes the operator list in infobox needs to be fixed too. Marcnut1996 (talk) 11:34, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am consulting a friend at the railway archives.
I have a published book saying the trams were rebranded in 1997, but it may be incorrect if it is based on the incorrect info from here.
The Bayside / Hillside, Connex / M>Train, & Swanston (and later M>Tram) / Yarra eras are all very lacking in reference material, and even their split network maps from that time are hard to find. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 12:08, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, the lack of reference material could mean the dates are all wrong. I am also struggling with finding out the detailed history of Connex Melbourne and what is the ownership composition of it. Marcnut1996 (talk) 12:13, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Forgot to ping you @ThylacineHunter:. Marcnut1996 (talk) 13:06, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I may have found something relating to the split of the trams: Yarra Trams article. "Met Tram 1" and "Met Tram 2" may be the names from 1997 to 1998. If so, I'd guess at "Met Train 1" and "Met Train 2" as potential names for Bayside / Hillside. I will nee to head into the railway library to have a look at some publications from 1997/98.
I'll also have a look for Railway Digest September 1998 for that reference re Stony Point. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 04:13, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have just acquired some 1997/1998 Newsrail magazines. Here is when the following became seperate corporations:
  • V/Line Freight, Victorian Rial Track Corporation (VRT) (trading as Vic Track Access) was on 1 July 1997
  • V/Line Passenger, Hillside, Bayside, Swanston and Yarra was on 1 July 1998
Newsrail September 1998, page 270, article title: Privatisation of Victorian Rial, by Sid Brown.
Hope this helps. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 00:41, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @ThylacineHunter:, that seems consistent to what we just learnt last week. Any information on who operated Stony Point? Marcnut1996 (talk) 00:55, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 06:28, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Turns out Stony Point was also covered in Newsrail September 1998. "On 1 July 1998, operation of the Stony Point line passed from V/Line to Bayside Trains" taken from Newsrail September 1998, page 266, article title: Change in Management of Stony Point Service, by C Banger.
I have updated the relevant articles with correct dates (we are still in the process of updating the North Melbourne group of lines, and I'll change them as we get to their pages in the coming week or 2). -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 10:32, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Invicta Old Logo.gif

Thank you for uploading File:Invicta Old Logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 11:43, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Iruka13: Some other user messed up the non-free use template that I used to upload logo. The reinstated template should satisfy the guideline now. Let me know if it isn't. Marcnut1996 (talk) 12:10, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
