Class work beginning for online ambassadors
My class has started editing their articles - please watch over them as they start. Thanks! See the list . Awadewit (talk) 19:36, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- Please communicate with the students on the simple English Wikipedia - some of them accidentally made accounts here, but we are trying to keep everything on the simple English Wikipedia for simplicity's sake - thanks! Awadewit (talk) 02:42, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- It looks like the students are really going to need to help identifying reliable sources. Please help them! Thanks! Awadewit (talk) 02:46, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry about the Wikipedia v. Simple thing. Definitely a habit. Unfortunately I will only be able to assist & play catch up on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as this is a work project and I need to compartmentalize to stay sane/keep my family a priority. Unfortunately last week also coincided with our 3rd image donation upload, which took all my time. I did get a meeting in with our American curator and archivist and they're aware that I may be requesting some specific sources in the coming weeks, but as mentioned they are extremely overwhelmed with preparations for holiday exhibits. This is their busiest time of year. I'll definitely do the best that I can, though. You can let students know in class tomorrow that they can feel free to touch base with me (on Simple or here) if they have specific requests. There is also the option of me hosting them for a (possible) curator or archivist meeting on-site if they can accommodate a Tuesday or Wednesday. They will need to reach out to me, though, if they're interested in that. Thanks Adrianne! Sorry that my assistance didn't pan out quite as nicely as I'd hoped it would. But I do hope to be of some help. Best- LoriLee (talk) 15:57, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Children's Museum update
It's time again to share the latest news on the Children's Museum of Indianapolis Wikipedia project! In the last few months we have been busy with our third image donation, which was made up of 150 images that were professionally photographed specifically for this upload. We are asking for volunteers to categorize these images and distribute them into Wikipedia articles. Your help is appreciated! Check them out here.
We have also donated our first video and a second GLAM-Wiki Infographic to Commons. In September we were thrilled to welcomed Jimmy Wales to the museum. Following our successful Edit-a-Thon and Translate-a-Thon in August, translations have continued with the help of the established QRpedia community, (particularly Russian translations thanks to Lvova!) We have begun to analyze our implementation of QRpedia codes and completed an extensive case study. In November we presented at the Museum Computer Network conference about how museums can effectively collaborate with Wikipedia. You can see more details on the Prezi.
In more general news, in addition to serving as the Children's Museum's Wikipedian-in-Residence, it was recently announced that I will be taking on the role of US Cultural Partnerships Coordinator for the Wikimedia Foundation. In this role I will be working to streamline the process of connecting interested US GLAMs with the Wikipedia community. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to let me know. Be sure to sign up for This Month in GLAM to keep up with the latest GLAM-Wiki news from around the world (subscribe).
We have a listing of High Need and Moderate Need requests on the Ways to Help section on the project page. I encourage you to lend a hand if you're able. While the Children's Museum partnership continues to truck along, we still are in desperate need of volunteers to help disperse our images and update and maintain content. Thank you for your time and help. Happy holidays! LoriLee (talk) 16:45, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Adding images
You're welcome and congrats I've added some photos from the Children's Museum to several articles on en.wp (see my contribs.) I'm happy to help--please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Also, congrats on getting a job out of all of this! —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 18:12, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Wow thanks so much Justin! You made some great additions and I really appreciate it! I'm quite proud of the Elton John one, especially ;). My supervisor asked if you'd be willing to add "from the collection of The Children's Museum of Indianapolis" to some of the captions that it makes sense to. The GLAM community in general is actually in quiet talks regarding the more deliberate attribution of these images to the institutions that go through so much effort to release them. In the meantime, captions are incredibly useful. Thanks again for your help & great to hear from you! HstryQT (talk) 18:42, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Captions I'm pretty opposed to adding "from such-and-such museum" or "photographed by so-and-so" unless that particular collection is itself notable or that particular photographer. I certainly won't stop anyone else from adding this kind of information and I understand why these institutions want to promote their collections, but its simply extraneous in most circumstances. Does someone reading about Elton John really need or want to know that the Children's Museum in Indianapolis has this hat? I would think not. Again, I understand the request and I appreciate the reasoning, but I hope you won't be offended if I choose to not add them myself. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 01:45, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- Not offended at all :) - I actually fall more on your side of the discussion. Thanks for getting back to me & for adding the images! LoriLee (talk) 13:02, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Your input is needed on the SOPA initiative
Hi LoriLee,
You are receiving this message either because you expressed an opinion about the proposed SOPA blackout before full blackout and soft blackout were adequately differentiated, or because you expressed general support without specifying a preference. Please ensure that your voice is heard by clarifying your position accordingly.
Thank you.

SarahStierch referred me to you, as the WP:GLAM person. Please take a look at User talk:Dthomsen8/Draft articles/DMA as a second draft, with help from Smallbones (talk of redoing Delaware Art Museum#Collections. I have dropped some of the links in the original in redoing the whole section, and I am unsure if I am consistent in adding subsection and sub-subsection headings, but overall I think this is much better visually. Smallbones, Sarah and I are members of Wikipedia:GLAM/Delaware Art Museum. --DThomsen8 (talk) 18:18, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for checking in! I'm really glad to see Smallbones' cooperation with DAM resulting in some updates so soon. I've been staying up to speed on this project from early on. In regards to updating the Delaware Art Museum article itself, I would suggest that you read my case study on my extensive revamp of the Indianapolis Museum of Art article. While this project was extremely detailed and somewhat over the top, the general premise of transparency and thoroughness is key. Also, I would suggest you avoid lists altogether. Use the IMA's article as a model for the types of headings to include, specifically I'd strongly suggest that the Collections section be narrative in style, not a list at all. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for your help with the DAM project! LoriLee (talk) 18:31, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for awarding me the GLAM barnstar! It was a pleasure for me to give a little contribution to the GLAM project. I am possibly going to become a Wikipedian in Residence myself, collaborating with the Gianni Caproni Museum of Aeronautics in Italy, which is where I come from... (The museum doesn't have an article in English yet, but i'm working to fix that. The collaboration has already started, even though at an informal level :D) I strongly believe in cooperation between Wikimedia projects and cultural insitutions, so... keep up the good work! GLAM
Hello. It seems you're the main person for GLAM. I'd like to do several batch uploads of PD government archives but can't seem to get an email response from them. The archives I'd like to upload are as follows:
- Marshall Space Flight Center's Image Archive ~4k images See also: here
- Public Health Image Library (PHIL), CDC site with ~15k images
- Images from the History of Medicine (IHM), NLM site with thousands in PD
- DPDx Parasite Image Library CDC site with thousands of PD images of parasites
- CDCTV CDC, ~80 videos
- Oregon Historical Archive ~3000 low-res images See also: here
See also: commons bot request
Would you be able to get an OTRS ticket filed for the individual archives? Thanks! If you're not the right person to ask, is there someone else? Smallman12q (talk) 23:24, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hello! Thanks for touching base. I am indeed the main person for GLAM in the US. I first was wondering with whom you're referring that you did not receive a response? Did you email glam@wikimedia.org? I did not notice an email there. Or are you referring to each individual institution?
- I see your Commons bot request, but I'm not sure how I can best help you. I can't necessarily push bot requests through more quickly. I would merely send you to the Commons:Guide to batch uploading and ensure you're following that process. In regards to OTRS, it's my understanding that in some cases the institution needs to send a letter to OTRS to more clearly state that permission has been granted for the upload. I do not have contacts at these individual institutions in order to facilitate that happening, and often that takes time and negotiations before it does. But, because you're mostly dealing with PD material, this may not be necessary.
- NASA: copyright information. This seems to have been written in 1998, but it says images can't be used commercially. For this reason they can't be mass uploaded to commons.
- Oregon State Archive: I know that a few participants in WP:Oregon are working on this. I would suggest that an OTRS letter should come from the institution in order to clarify the licensing, but this may not be necessary. You'd probably have to look more into that and check with those who run the Commons Batch Uploads.
- I would also consider waiting until September to do these uploads, since some could be used for Wiki Loves Monuments, if you or the institution were interested.
- PHIL, NLM seem to be clearly in the public domain and should be OK.
- The CDC is obviously public domain because it's federal, but it isn't specifically listed as such. You may need to confirm with User:Dominic to see how he dealt with mass uploads of federal images/multimedia that may not have otherwise been specifically listed as public domain.
- I'm sorry to not offer more help. There is a tremendous backlog of cultural institution mass uploads, and I'm not experienced enough on the technical aspects to be able to offer any further advice. Thanks for touching base. LoriLee (talk) 17:28, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. I should've clarified my question: Would you be able to get in touch with the listed institutions, and get an OTRS ticket filed? I don't really need any help from the technical side (these images and data can be easily scraped off their websites), mainly it's a pain to get in contact with these agencies to get permission. For NASA in particular, I believe NASA works are in PD, and here it states "Photographs are not protected by copyright unless noted.", but here it states "Accordingly, it is requested that for any case in which a photograph is used in advertising and other commercial promotion, a layout and copy of the document should be submitted to NASA prior to release.". It'd be nice if this could be clarified. I'm not sure if I should proceed on such batch uploads w/o an OTRS ticket. I'll ask Dominic to comment.Smallman12q (talk) 23:14, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- You don't actually need an OTRS ticket unless there is reason to believe that the content is under a restrictive copyright license. US federal government works lacking copyright notices are generally presumed to be in the public domain if there is no notice, and that is how I would treat the CDCTV ones. Just make sure there is no reason to believe they actually came from some third party. The NASA copyright notice doesn't actually assert copyright or restrict commercial usage—it merely prohibits the use of NASA photographs to imply a false commercial endorsement. Photos produced by federal employees employed by NASA in the course of their duties are not protected by copyright. NASA is well within their rights to request attribution (which we would do anyway) and even notification for commercial uses, but these are not copyright restrictions, and do not really concern us. We do not have to be worried at all about uploading public domain images from NASA without an OTRS release, as long as we use commons:Template:PD-USGov-NASA and follow Commons policy.
- The hard part is setting everything up so it is just right on Commons before you upload. You'll want to make sure you have the right licensing templates, and might need to create new ones (like for Oregon ones). You'll need to have a way to detect all the important metadata and upload it in the right fields (and you might need to design a custom template for this). And you'll want to think about how to categorize the files. Are there large batches that you can pre-categorize, or subject headings in the metadata? If that's not sufficient, maybe you can upload them with an "uncategorized" template and get the Oregon WikiProject to work on categorizing them? Commons cares quite a lot about good categories to make files discoverable. I suggest you pick one of your batches and create a request at commons:Commons:Batch uploading for it. The Commons actually has to approve any mass bot uploads, and that is where these issues are discussed before approval. Dominic·t 08:01, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response Dominic! I've updated my commons request with an Oregon template, and provided a link to the xml file with the data. As I don't need approval for the NASA/CDC I'll do those next. Thanks again for the response.Smallman12q (talk) 23:50, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

GLAM Talk
I Lori I'm doing a talk for the IUB Libraries' Digital Library Brown Bag series and wanted to know if you would like to speak with me and share your experiences participating in the GLAM community and the importance of archives and libraries getting involved and working with like organizations such as museums and galleries. The talk is scheduled for Wednesday, October 31 from 12-1 on the Bloomington campus. If you could let me know by this Friday, August 10 if you would be interested in talking that would be great! Sorry for the late notice. I just finalized the date yesterday.
- Hello! It's great to hear that you'll be doing a brown bag! I so wish that I could help you with it. Unfortunately my commitments have been put on hold for the fall because we have had some staff changes at the museum, and my responsibilities will be expanding significantly over the next couple of months during this transition. Because Bloomington is a full day trip for me, I know that I wouldn't be able to ask off for it. I do want to be sure that you receive all of the resources you need though, so let me know if you need help (virtually) in preparing. Thank you for touching base! LoriLee (talk) 16:09, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Lori. No problem. I wanted to reach out to you because you have been so actively involved in GLAM and presented several times at Wikimania and your local (kind of). I know you know much more about the project than me. I would be happy to take any resources (useful links, etc.) you have related to GLAM. Please let me know if there is anything in particular you think I should be sure to discuss such as a particular project that was very successful and received positive feedback. I know GLAM has been very successful as a project but if there are any standout projects, let me know. I'm planning to explain GLAM and discuss some of the institutions that have been involved such as the Children's Museum, the Smithsonian and the National Archives and the role of the Wikipedian in Residence. Also, we typically broadcast the session virtually though Adobe Connect so we may be able to bring you in virtually if you are able to do a short talk.

Hello,
On the Commons, commons:User:Bdcousineau states that the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum and Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library are interested in participating in GLAM and porting there collections to the Commons. Could you reach out to them?Smallman12q (talk) 11:36, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up Smallman. I've met Bettina and encouraged her to get started, and she's been in consistent contact with Dominic at the National Archives, which is the most natural place for her to receive continued support. I appreciate it! LoriLee (talk) 15:14, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- They said NARA wasn't being helpful...so you're the coordinator...maybe there's some miscommunication somewhere?Smallman12q (talk) 15:49, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

Wikimedian in Residence at Ladd Observatory
Hello. I am trying to organize a residence project at Brown University's Ladd Observatory. I saw your name mentioned at GLAM/Getting Started and would appreciate any advice or help in making contacts to move this forward. I've started a draft proposal at Outreach:Wikipedian_in_Residence/Ladd_Observatory and would be grateful if you could take a look and offer any suggestions. --mikeu talk 16:37, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

GLAM talk advice
Hi Lori. Just touching base with you to see if you have any suggestions for things to include in the talk. Do you have any suggestions on specific projects to include in the talk? I'm planning to give some background info on Wikipedia and then talk about the GLAM project, why libraries and archives should be involved and some key institutions (OCLC, Smithsonian, National Archives) that have been involved as well as the Wikipedian in Residence program.

Happy birthday!
Dear Lori,
Wikipedia birthday wishes are way cooler than Facebook ones. ;-) I want to wish you a happy birthday and a happy new year. 2012 was a crazy year, and with two GLAMcamps, AAM, Wikimania, MCN, and Amsterdam, I'm lucky it was one full of you. I'm thankful for the amazing work that you've done as US Cultural Partnerships Coordinator this past year, and I'm even more grateful for your friendship. I hope 2013 is your most fulfilling (and GLAMorous) year yet. Dominic·t 02:38, 4 January 2013 (UTC) |

Wikipedia Ambassadors update
Hi! You're getting this message because you are or have been a Wikipedia Ambassador. A new term is beginning for the United States and Canada Education Programs, and I wanted to give you an update on some important new information if you're interested in continuing your work this term as a Wikipedia Ambassador.
You may have heard a reference to a transition the education program is going through. This is the last term that the Wikimedia Foundation will directly run the U.S. and Canada programs; beginning in June, a proposed thematic organization is likely to take over organizing the program. You can read more about the proposal here.
Another major change in the program will take effect immediately. Beginning this term, a new MediaWiki education extension will replace all course pages and Ambassador lists. (See Wikipedia:Course pages and Help:Education Program extension for more details.) Included in the extension are online volunteer and campus volunteer user rights, which let you create and edit course pages and sign up as an ambassador for a particular course.
If you would like to continue serving as a Wikipedia Ambassador — even if you do not support a class this term — you must create an ambassador profile. If you're no longer interested in being a Wikipedia Ambassador, you don't need to do anything.
- Please do these steps as soon as possible
First, you need the relevant user rights for Online and/or Campus Ambassadors. (If you are an admin, you can grant the rights yourself, for you as well as other ambassadors.) Just post your rights request here, and we'll get you set up as quickly as possible.
Once you've got the ambassador rights, please set up at a Campus and/or Online Ambassador profile. You can do so at:
- Special:CampusAmbassadorProfile
- Special:OnlineAmbassadorProfile
Going forward, the lists of Ambassadors at Special:CampusAmbassadors and Special:OnlineAmbassadors will be the official roster of who is an active Ambassador. If you would like to be an Ambassador but not ready to serve this term, you can un-check the option in your profile to publicly list it (which will remove your profile from the list).
After that, you can sign on to support courses. The list of courses will be at Special:Courses. (By default, this lists "Current" courses, but you can change the Status filter to "Planned" to see courses for this term that haven't reached their listed start date yet.)
As this is the first term we have used the extension, we know there will be some bugs, and we know the feature set is not as rich as it could be. (A big wave of improvements is already in the pipeline. And if you know MediaWiki and could help with code review, we'd love to have your help!) Please reach out to me (Sage Ross) with any complaints, bug reports, and feature suggestions. The basic features of the extension are documented at Wikipedia:Course pages, and you can see a tutorial for setting up and using them here.
- Communication and keeping up to date
In the past, the Education Program has had a pretty fragmented set of communication channels. We're trying to fix that. These are the recommended places to discuss and stay up-to-date on the education program:
- The education noticeboard has become the main on-wiki location for discussion of the Education Program. You can post there about broad education program issues as well as issues with individual courses.
- The Ambassadors Announce email list is a very low-traffic announcements list of important information all Ambassadors need to be aware of. We encourage all Ambassadors (and other interested Wikipedians) to subscribe to the list; follow the instructions on the link to add your email address.
- If you use IRC regularly, or need to try to reach someone immediately, the #wikipedia-en-ambassadors connect IRC channel is the place to find me and fellow Ambassadors.
- Ambassador training and resources
We now have an online training for Ambassadors, which is intended to be both an orientation about the Wikipedia Ambassador role for newcomers and the manual for how to do the role. (There are parallel trainings for students and for educators as well.)
Please go through the training if you feel like you need a refresher on how a typical class is supposed to go and where the Ambassadors fit in, or if you want to review and help improve it. If there's something you'd like to see added, or other suggestions you have for it, feel free to edit the training and/or leave feedback. A primer on setting up and using course pages is included in the educators' training.
The Resources page of the training is the main place for Ambassador-related resources. If there's something you think is important as a resource that's not on there, please add it.
Finally, whether or not you work with any classes this term, I encourage you to post entries to the Trophy Case whenever you see excellent work from students or if you have great examples from past semesters. And, as always, let students (and other editors!) know when they do things well; a little WikiLove goes a long way!

An exciting month of wiki events!
Hello there,
I am pleased to say that April will be a very exciting month for Wikipedia in Washington, DC. We have a lot of different events coming up, so you will have a lot to choose from.
First, a reminder that our second annual Women in the Arts Edit-a-Thon will take place on Sunday, March 30 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
Coming up in April, we have our first-ever Open Government WikiHack with the Sunlight Foundation on April 5–6! We are working together to use open government data to improve the Wikimedia projects, and we would love your help. All are welcome, regardless of coding or editing experience. We will also be having a happy hour the day before, with refreshments courtesy of the Sunlight Foundation.
On Friday, April 11 we are having our first edit-a-thon ever with the Library of Congress. The Africa Collection Edit-a-Thon will focus on the Library's African and Middle East Reading Room. It'll be early in the morning, but it's especially worth it if you're interested in improving Wikipedia's coverage of African topics.
The following day, we are having our second annual Wiki Loves Capitol Hill training. We will discuss policy issues relevant to Wikimedia and plan for our day of outreach to Congressional staffers that will take place during the following week.
There are other meetups in the works, so be sure to check our meetup page with the latest. I hope to see you at some of these events!
All the best,
James Hare

Greg Kohs and WikiConference USA
Dear LoriLee: Is this report accurate: WikiConference USA bans critic from open meeting? If it is accurate do you know if a response from the conference organizers is forthcoming? I won't spend time explaining exactly how upsetting this is and how very bad it looks on its face until the accuracy of the report is confirmed. It looks really bad, though, and I really hope there's a plausible explanation. Note that I'm not asking about the rejection of Kohs's presentation, but only about the allegation that he was barred from an event touted as "open to all participants, regardless of previous level of involvement with Wikipedia or the Wikimedia projects. We welcome the curious, the skeptical, and others wishing to engage in meaningful conversation about the Wikimedia movement in the United States, free culture and digital rights, advocacy and outreach, community building, and technology." I posted the same question on Newyorkbrad's talk page, but he declined to respond substantively. I am also leaving it on the talk pages of the other conference organizers.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 14:43, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedia and YOUR History: Taking Control of the Internet
Come one and come all. To a presentation at the Laurel Historical Society about how you can help verify, validate, and edit the information that is on the front line of local history.
- Show the Internet who is the better editor.

Wikipedia and YOUR History: Taking Control of the Internet
See you at the Laurel Pool Room, 9th and Main Street, Laurel, MD on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 7:00 PM EST. See http://www.meetup.com/Wikimedia-DC/events/205494212/ for more information. Geraldshields11 (talk) 02:13, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
Wikimedia DC invites revolutionaries, free thinkers, and other sundry editors to a DC WikiSalon
The WikiSalon is a special meetup usually held during the first and third full weeks of every month, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It's an informal gathering of Wikimedia enthusiasts, who come together to discuss Wikimedia wikis and collaboratively edit. There's no set agenda, and guests are welcome to recommend articles for the group to edit or edit on their own.
If you're coming by Metro, the closest station is Dupont Circle (on the Red Line). If you're driving, a lot of parking opens up downtown after 6:30 PM, so finding a parking space (even a free one) should be easy. Once you've found the building, go to Cove on the second floor. We will be in the conference room.
When: Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Where: The Cove, Dupont Circle, 1730 Connecticut Avenue NW, 2nd floor, 20009, DC

File permission problem with File:JacquelineAnderson.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:JacquelineAnderson.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Redsky89 (talk) 07:45, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Help decide the future of Wikimania
The Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018).
After reviewing the consultation, we'd like to hear your feedback on on this survey.
In addition, feel free to share any personal experiences you have had at at a Wikimedia movement conference, including Wikimania. We plan to compile and share back outcomes from this consultation in February.
With thanks,
I JethroBT (WMF) (talk), from Community Resources 23:46, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Faberge infobox
Hi, it looks like several years ago you changed the Faberge infobox to include a corrected "width" parameter for the images section. Unfortunately, there was already a width parameter given in the original infobox for the width of the egg, and having two parameters with the same name gives an error when saved. I am not certain myself exactly how to change this, but am hoping that you do, since the template is not functional in its current state. I attempted to add a TemplateData box to the documentation subpage but failed (the text is there enclosed in comment marks). Thanks! KDS4444 (talk) 01:20, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

Wikimedian in Residence BoF at Wikimania 2017
Hello!
My name is David Alves (User:Horadrim~usurped), and I'm an Wikipedian in Residence at RIDC NeuroMat (User:Horadrim). I've reach your contact through the Wikimedian in residence page in Outreach. As you may know, Wikimania 2017 is coming! I am here because, as a fellow WiR, I believe this would be a great opportunity for us to share experiences, discuss difficulties and exchange solutions, creating a community among us capable of supporting in other projects that would benefit from residents. In that sense, I have submitted a proposal of a Birds of a Feather activity to Wikimania that you can check out here. I hope to count with your support in this project and would like to invite you to join us if you participate in Wikimania. In case of any doubts, please feel free to contact me, either in my talk pages or by e-mail at david.alvesoutlook.com.
