I meant to copy it, must've hit cut, sorry. -- User:dannycas 14:05, 29 December 2005 (EST)
No problem. I'm not sure why some of the "Situacion ____" images work and others don't. Do you know if there's a list of the ones user:alyssalover uploaded? -- User:dannycas 14:17, 29 December 2005 (EST)
About Project Punctuation
Hey. How's it going? Anyway, I just wanted to suggest you to use missing period(s) ([[Wikipedia:WikiProject Punctuation|You can help!]]) as the edit summary on the edits you make for the Project Punctuation. It's not a requirement, but it raises awareness among the Wikipedians. -- WB 14:03, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
Back among the living
Thanks again for the nice e-mail. All is well. :) - Lucky 6.9 01:01, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
Please remove the hoax tag and nominate for AFD as a dic def. You can use {{not verified}} as well if you wish, but this hardly qualifies as a hoax. --WAvegetarian 15:55, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
IDESCAT
Why did you remove the IDESCAT link from Alt Camp? It was the source of the population statistics. It should have been cited as such -- not sure why it wasn't. I see their server is down right now, but that shouldn't be a reason to remove a link. -- Jmabel | Talk 07:07, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, I kept looking and it wasn't a server problem, despite the message. They had changed the link. It was pretty easy to come in via their home page & fix it. Some time the next few days, I'll check out all the other Catalan comarques, I suspect the change is general, their site has a new look.
- I'll admit this is one of my pet peeves. I wrote most of what is at Wikipedia:Cite sources#What to do when a reference link ."goes_dead."; if you are not familiar with it, please take a look. -- Jmabel | Talk 17:29, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
Crown of Napoleon
Re your change from British English to American English spelling, it is Wikipedia policy not to change types or English or their spelling. There are three simple rules:
- If the topic is American, use American English.
- If a topic is British or Commonwealth, use British/International English.
- If a topic is neither, leave in the form of spelling in which the article was originally written and and add your own additions in that form.
Please do not replace mediæval with medieval when the article is written in British English, not American English. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 15:49, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry about the spell edit. I didn't realize that this was the UK spelling. I once read it was archaic, but perhaps only in American English. I checked this word in a spell checker with UK English and it marked it as mispelled. I know the spell checkers aren't fool proof.--Adam 16:11, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
No problem. Even more complicated is the fact that it can be written in BE either as mediaeval or mediæval. The spellcheck may have had some problems with the æ which is less widely used anymore but still perfectly OK to use. It is usually people who learnt/learned (sic) latin who still use the æ! But then there is the fun of jail/gaol. The latter is quite old-fashioned, but still perfectly valid, particularly when referring to old names like the Ballad of Reading Jail, Mountjoy Gaol, etc. But people keep finding them and changing them. The fun of English (any sort), eh! FearÉIREANN\(caint) 16:19, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
The complication is also that there are other forms of English, such as Indian English, Australian English, Hiberno-English, etc. æ is declining in usage in British English, but it is still correct. It is still used a lot in Hiberno-English, which I speak and write. But it is perfectly correct. Every so often you find users who insist that it can't be right because they never saw it. And of course these wordchecks are notoriously bad. I use them all the time when writing newspaper articles and columns and it is frustrating because as well as spotting errors they also spot perfectly correct spellings. Because there are some overlaps between BE and AE, it seems as though if there are two versions, one used exclusively by BE and one used occasionally in BE and all the time in AE, they are programmed only to recognise the latter and never the former. It does annoy a lot of BE, HE, AE users, etc.
I did a reversion again though I suspect that the guy will keep going and I can't do more than 3 reverts. Feel free to keep an eye out and help out of you can. It would be appreciated. Slán. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 20:39, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

Muito bem, what an excellent article. I am glad that you have come here to contribute with us, how great to meet you! Até logo (você pode falar commigo em português). If I didn't say that right, sorry. I speak Spanish more so. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 20:50, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks!
Thank you for your kind words regarding my work on the KaDee Strickland article! I respect the opinions of the people who have criticised its presence on the Main Page, but I honestly do think that if an article is good enough and meets the criteria, then it deserves to be there, no matter how "notable" or "relevant" the subject is. Once again, thanks! Extraordinary Machine 20:31, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Obscene?
I was not aware that I had added any obscene edit summaries?! I think you will find I moved a page with a rather obscene name back to its original location after it had been vandalised. At least I hope that's it. Sorry for any offense! Will => [[User_talk:Wimt|talk]] 22:43, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- my apologies mate. --Adam (talk) 22:46, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Re:Sorry about...
Oh, it's no problem, mate. I've done it a few times myself, actually :). of course, the good thing is that means too many people are trying to revert vandalism, rather than not enough. Cheers, Sean|Black 05:07, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
John Seigenthaler Sr
Have a look at John Seigenthaler Sr. Wikipedia biography controversy. It made pretty big headlines (at least on internet news) and lowered the credibility of Wikipedia. - Akamad 14:02, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
Norwegian National Association for Lesbian and Gay Liberation
I don't have anything against the move per se, except I haven't been able to ascertain that the English name is how they refer to themselves in English. I only found one English page on their website, and here they refer to themselves as LLH. I won't change anything right now, but be advised that it might have to be moved again. --Leifern 00:37, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

To install popups
Goto http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kungfuadam/monobook.js click the edit button, and add these lines to it
// [[User:Lupin/popups.js]] - please include this line document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="' + 'http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Lupin/popups.js' + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>');
Once you done so, clear your browser cache, log out of wikipedia and log back in. Hopefully this helps :) --山本一郎 22:58, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- Once you have the popups installed, when you view the diff page between two revisions, hover over the version you wish to revert to, and select actions / revert. That should open the revision for editing and automatically save. Jacoplane 11:59, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
Britney
Why did you revert the data I posted about Ms spears it was not vandalism.
How does one become allowed to edit?
I just discovered that Wikipeida can be edited. So I made some updates and alterations, all of which are completely accurate. But then you sent me a message that I was doing something wrong. Do I have to register for something?
- Your address is a shared address that many AOL users use. I warned someone with your IP address because they made unhelpful changes to Wikipedia. Thx for that. As you are a native English speaker you will do a much better job than me. I can also help with Technical Portuguese and translating it properly into (Technical) English. For instance, Terreno Casca-de-meloa translates into English as Cantaloupe Terrain. I'll try to help. Hugs, Adam. -Pedro 20:09, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
USSR establishment date.
If you look on the USSR article, it says that the country was established on December 30, 1922. Nowhere in the article is the date July 6, 1923 mentioned.
Superscripts
It's really easy -- you see the list of characters under the edit box? Superscript 1, 2, and 3 are listed there. Clicking the link adds a character to the textbox (provided that you have allowed Javascript in your browser). Another way to show them is to use html tags (e.g. ³ -> ³). I recommend using the letters without html tags, because it makes editing easier (and because Wikipedia uses UTF-8 encoding, html tagging is not needed).--Jyril 17:01, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
