Informing article creators of AfD

In case you didn't know, it is usually suggested that when you put an article up for AfD the article's creator and/or significant contributors are notified. There is a template, {{Afd-notice}} for doing so to make it easier. I mention this because I noticed that Poison Whiskey (talk · contribs) didn't get a notice about Aji Susilo. I would hope they would have the article on their watchlist, but you can never be sure. Anyhow, it was a good nomination IMO, just as all of the ones you have been putting up are. --TreyGeek (talk) 01:36, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Arena shows

  • My apologies for contacting you here. Regarding notability on the Royal Arena shows: It's the biggest promotion in Denmark with a groundbreaking tv deal. The show pulled high ratings & broke attendace records + everything is documentaed with references to reliable sources. Also the second show is highly anticipated & is already gaining media coverage. Would you please consider letting these articles live?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Adamkessel (talk • contribs) 11:38, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't put those articles up for deletion and they will live until someone does. However, IMO these events are not notable and will have difficulty surviving an AfD discussion. There is nothing to show those events have anything but routine sports coverage. You might make a better case for the Royal Arena promotion if you can add sufficient independent sources. It's generally considered good form to notify article creators of your deletion tagging, particularly with CSDs. Once added, the CSD tag has a template code that you can copy and paste to the user's talkpage. It would have been appreciated. Yunshui ‍水 23:23, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, when you tag a page as a repost, you need to let the deleting admin know where the deletion discussion was. When a page is reposted at its original title, the deletion template will link to the AFD, but in cases like Aikido and the Dynamic Sphere, which has never been deleted under that title, you need to include a link to (or at least the name of) the discussion. I think there's a parameter in the template to do it, or you could simply place the name of the discussion after the template, such as within <!-- and --> tags. Please go back and re-tag it, unless of course you've changed your mind. Nyttend (talk) 17:34, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to both of you for your comments. I hope I've now done this correctly. Jakejr (talk) 18:43, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah I understand. Actually I think the CSD nomination was removed not because you did it incorrectly but because the issue was resolved.Peter Rehse (talk) 00:16, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Courtesy notification re Mixed martial arts clothing

I removed the prod from the article, because I disagree with deletion. Please see my detailed rationale at the talk page if you wish to discuss further. gnfnrf (talk) 17:55, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Back in December 2010 you PRODded this, and it was deleted. Undeletion has been requested at WP:REFUND, so per WP:DEL#Proposed deletion I have restored it, and now notify you in case you wish to consider AfD. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 14:10, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed this page has now moved to a debate about its deletion. Where do we debate this? TheDeadRat (talk) 15:48, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article's page has a link to the discussion. Jakejr (talk) 01:02, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

Is "notability" on wikipedia only determined by relevance in the west or developed countries? You deleted an article of someone who happens to be one of the biggest movie stars in Vietnam, if not the biggest male star, Johnny Tri Nguyen, who admittedly is a nobody outside of Vietnam and thus there are few reliable English sources on his notability, but the Vietnamese sources are abundant. I thought wikipedia was an international site. Despite the fact that he's done little of note in the western world, major western news outlets have written about the success of his films in Vietnam.Khocaon (talk) 00:00, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jakejr. Because you participated in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ryan Martin (boxer), you may be interested in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ryan Martin (boxer) (2nd nomination). Cunard (talk) 03:01, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I created this article as he was supposed to fight JLB for WKN title. As he didn't, please nominate it for deletion. Master Sun Tzu (talk) 13:35, 06 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
