PRODs

Hello, Imcdc,

I've been deleting dozens of articles you PROD'd a week ago and I had a suggestion. Since you use Twinkle (which is great), there is a setting in Twinkle that will maintain a deletion log for you for CSD, PRODs and XFDs. It can help to review this log to see how active you are or if there ar problems and articles are getting untagged. I believe you just go into Twinkle Preferences to set this up but I've found it's useful to have. Thanks for all of your contributions to the project. Liz Read! Hi Liz,
Merry Christmas and thanks for the heads up. Since the focus is on PROD, I am assume you are referring to this? If so, I only just found about it. I also just activated CSD and XFD tracking although I won't be using them as much for now.
Currently I'm just doing a bit of cleanup work regarding financial service companies since that's one of my main fields here. Not many people work on these companies so I thought I might as well remove all the obvious ones that will have little controversy or pushback. I think my work is almost complete for the time being. Your recent contributions seem to take a scythe to financial service companies pagespace. I declined your speedy on Iona Capital, but have zero problems with your effort. These are not strongly sourced pages... BusterD (talk) 12:42, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Primavera Capital

Hello @Imcdc

In our previous archived chat you added a statement later as below:

"You previously stated you will not edit this article any further so I expect that statement to be honored otherwise I may need to take action considering the circumstances'. "

I respect your expertise on Wiki & the valuable insights you provide when you revoke any of the points.

However, I would like to clarify that during any statements that are challenged, I have agreed to learn from them and 'leave it at that' NOT forced to add anything. Also, never stated that I will not edit a page; so if any statements were mis-leading this is a clarification. Since, I do go back to pages and edit them if/when I find useful information on the topic (with credible source) & don't want my login to be blocked/banned etc and use it responsibly (on my end).

I am learning rules for Wiki and I have been editing quite a few pages but not sure why this particular page i.e. Primavera Capital has been so closely guarded, is it off-limits due to any sensitive topic/subject? OR am I doing something really wrong here?

Appreciate the direction on what is going wrong with me and this particular article, since you've threatened to take action. Thanks

PS: I haven't edited the page since revert and nor do I intend to do anything in near future or at least till I know what am I doing wrong 'only with this article' or why is the article so special. WorldPeace888 (talk) 05:49, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

See 1 in your own words. Given that you have a second account and tired editing this page under it instead, it looks very suspicious. If you have a sockpuppet account then it is possible you are not as new as you claim and have might have other accounts as well. Then this is very serious as you could be a blocked user.
There is nothing special about this article except you make a significant number of edits to it that have to be reverted. I'm not the only user who thinks edits of yours are disruptive. See 2, 3, 4 and 5 for some of your edits that are getting reverted. Assuming WP:GF I suggest reading WP:CTW or WP:HELPDESK before making any more edits. Otherwise some other less patient users might start reporting your for disruptive editing. Your account is almost 2 years old now so people will not be so generous anymore. Appreciate the input.
Second account was just a stupid thing to try have account for specific domain edits to collect expert 'tags' on Wiki for niches (like for this account I was invited to join: WikiProject Private Equity) & may be that was not the right way.
However, I don't intend to do that anymore & the login has not been used since you highlighted that multiple logins are against policy. Will work to build this account with loads of (responsible) edits.
I now see, the reverts on other articles too (thanks for the links). Guess not everyone comes to the talk page to tell that edits are reverted. Will read the links provided and won't be making any edits for a while till I get my head around it.
My account may be 2 years old but I edit in my free time, so it's quite uneven/ However, I get your point.
Appreciate the direction and the input. Thanks as always. WorldPeace888 (talk) 06:35, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
