The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:02, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
- yeah i forget like half the time :(
Talkpages
Hey, I feel like I should point out a few things. I know you're trying to help out but structuring the talkpage like you're doing at Talk:Ultimate Fighting Championship is not really helpful. Usually, when the talkpage becomes long it's in full or in part archived (see WP:TALK and for example Talk:Fedor Emelianenko for an example). When it's divided up in sections like that it becomes both difficult to archive as well as to keep track of what's the most recent discussions. I know you mean well and worked hard on it, but I think most would appreciate it if you didn't restructure it. Don't worry about undoing it though, I think we might just as well archive most of it as-is IMO. On another note, a tip if you need a page to store information or to use as a sandbox is that you can create a subpage in you userspace instead of using you userpage or talkpage as you're doing now. See here for instructions. Cheers, good luck with future editing and just ask me if you need any help! --aktsu (t / c) 20:47, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks and welcome
Thanks for noticing the work on B.J. Penn. You also brought that script to my attention, and I am going to start to use it more often. I've noticed that you've started to put some work in on the MMA articles this month. You are a welcome addition. We have enough yahoos screwing up these articles that it is nice to have some quality help.--2008Olympianchitchat 06:06, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- You also may want to create User:Floodo1/sandbox instead of using your talk page for article text that you are working on.--2008Olympianchitchat 06:22, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
re: barnstar
Many thanks :) It's awesome to see more people getting involved in improving the MMA-articles. I've been a bit busy as well, but I try to look over my watchlist once a day and get rid of the vandalism. Hopefully I can find some time to do some serious work on a few of the B-class articles to get them closer to GA sometime soon! Cheers, --aktsu (t / c) 15:18, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
