Rūdolfs Jurciņš 1934

Hello!

Why You deleted drawing "Rūdolfs Jurciņš 1934.jpg"? This was nothing to do with any offence or insulting memmories about him or Latvians as a nation. Rūdolfs Jurciņš was a European Celebrity and any addings (even such as friendly carricature from Lithuanian magazine) about him would show how well known and popular he was and would increase his popularity now. The more pics about him - the better.

Merry Christmas!

United Synagogues

Dear Edgars, please escalate the protected page status of the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:United_Synagogue that you have been recently involved in. there is a block in place, for no reason, other than one user does not like having FULLY sourced and referenced material added to the page in question.

This is not, patently, in the spirit of Wikipedia and as such should be removed.

Kind regards

IIHF world championships

Do you mean that because the chances of two teams from Group A being relegated are so slim that it dosen't bear mentioning so the note is not necessary there?18abruce (talk) 09:16, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@18abruce: I think I don't understand something. So, if Russia is 8th in Group B, then which 7th team is relegated? Group A or B? I think it's logical that relegated are 7th team from Group B, because Group A doesn't have anything to do with that. Am I right? --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 09:25, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
wrong, thats the whole point, the rules state that it is two lowest ranked teams so as the note says it would then be the lowest ranked 7th place team. It remains incredibly unlikely, but possible.18abruce (talk) 09:33, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Then I'm really sorry. Thought, that the system is as it always has been, so didn't read the note carefully :) --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 09:39, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, someone pointed it out to me a couple of years ago when I was trying to evaluate who was still able to be relegated, or I would never have noticed or thought of it. It is possible that the wording has never changed since they did the four groups of four format.18abruce (talk) 13:48, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Interwiki to templates in Arabic Wikipedia

Hi, thank you for reply. Yes, I'm still interrested in doing that job. Can you run your bot for that mission ? If you need a bot flag in Arabic Wikipedia just ask here [1]. --Helmoony (talk) 17:50, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Helmoony: no, I wont need bot status. For such tasks this is all what needed. But I would do that probably after some days. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 17:57, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
After I connect those, which have the same name, I can give you other templates. Actually, I think you'll (that is, Arabic Wikipedia) have problems with other namespaces, at least my Wikipedia (Latvian Wikipedia) had :D --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 17:58, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I'm gonna wait. -Helmoony (talk) 18:00, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Helmoony: I did some connection job. I think I connected somewhere 2000 items. I am counting only those templates, which are basepage, I'm not counting subpages. As I found out, there was quite little number of templates, that do contain only English name, the most of them are at least partially in Arabic. I will work on those templates, which have been moved at enwiki, but you can take a look at those in Arabic. So here are the lists:

If you're interested, can go trough those templates, which are subpages, just say, under what name is documentation subpages. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 19:45, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like I put them in talk page space. You can freely move them to right namespace :) --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 19:53, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Thank you for your job. At least 2000 were connected to wikidata. That's a good job. Do you have a link by the way ? I'm working on the rest by mearging, deleting or simply adding an interwiki. Now you are a reviewer in Arabic Wikipedia so you can make some changes without waiting for reviews. I may need an update of the lists next months. Thank you. --Helmoony (talk) 21:55, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy. I see that the suggestion set targeting longer popular red links didn't work out well, largely due to the tools poor understanding of country names and nominatives in Latvian. To help me tune the tool to improve future runs, is Maldivijas considered an acceptable (if lazy) variation of Maldīvijas, or should the tool always prefer variants with macrons ? Cheers - TB (talk) 16:03, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Topbanana: Yes, Latvian language isn't very nice in this case :) No, Maldivijas isn't good form. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 16:53, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Missing interwikis

Hi Edgars! I noticed your page User:Edgars2007/Women from German linked into some athletes that I'm working on. How did you get the data for these missing articles and the number of articles in other languages? I ask because I've been recently thinking about how to get similar results for articles on athletics. Thanks, SFB 22:51, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I have some few secret methods of creating such lists, that I would like to keep in secret. But I can surely provide you with such lists. Here are some missing athletes articles from frwiki. Number of iws are number in table +1 (frwiki). Included those articles, which have infobox. Choosed frwiki, because I noticed in last few years (yes, athletics is in my zone of interest), that usually there is article. If you need some other such lists (based on category(-ies), templates, wikiproject banners in other Wikipedias), fell free to ask. If you need updating that list also - don't hesitate to ask. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 07:21, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, one more note - in list there are included only those articles, which are in frwiki and some other Wikipedia. If you and other Athletics Wikiproject members will create all those articles, which will take some time :), then I probably could provide those articles, which are only at frwiki. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 07:39, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging you just in case you missed my answer. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 07:35, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is great stuff! Exactly what I was looking for. Would you also be able to produce similar athlete lists for German and Polish Wikipedias? Those are the other languages where athletics is well represented. Foreign language coverage is often a very good indicator of what we are missing. I do find your secret methods quite intriguing! Thanks, SFB 22:35, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Sillyfolkboy: included de and plwiki. Later will think about removing dublicates, I think, more than 50% are dublicates. Those lists are useful in one more way - some 10 articles we're not connected to other Wikipedias, so before writing new article, make sure, maybe it already exists at enwiki :) You could organize some red-link removal drive at Athletics Wikiproject, there would be work for everyone :) --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 07:40, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Sillyfolkboy: the lists are updated, dewiki list may be incomplete, there were some problems. These should be better than previous ones, because I and other guys have done some clean-up at Wikidata by merging duplicates. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 17:30, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cool - thanks for letting me know! I've done quite a bit of clean up and done some of the more popular links but looks like there are still plenty to go. SFB 22:21, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Transclusion counting

WRT the Village Pump discussion, here's the kind of thing I'm thinking about: any upmerged stubs with over 60 transclusions are eligible for being given their own category, and we have a huge backlog of overly large stub cats. Take Category:Kansas geography stubs for instance -- any of those which file into this directory (except {{Kansas-geo-stub}}, which is the intended stub tag for that category) with 60+ could be spun out, cutting the cat size down quickly. But checking which are eligible takes a while, because in many cases there are like 70 of them. (As it happens I've checked all these ones manually, but it took a while and was pretty tedious...!) As to how often it would need to be done... hard to say. Many don't have upmerged templates as yet, so it wouldn't be useful there, and you'd only need to check once a year at most I expect, but there are a whole bunch of oversized ones, many of which do have upmerged tags filing into them already. But if it's not gonna be often enough, or requires too much server strain, then don't sweat it. Would be nice to cut out 10 minutes worth of manually checking, but it's hardly essential :) Cheers! Buttons to Push Buttons (talk | contribs) 15:07, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look here. Is that what you wanted? Look just at the results at the second part of page. Don't worry about formatting - that can be changed. I just took those stub templates at Kansas geography stubs (except {{Kansas-geo-stub}}). If the results are OK, then my answer is yes - I can help you. You can come here anytime, probably better with multiple requests and maybe give me some page at WP:Stub sorting, where I can place the results in wiki-friendly format. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 15:58, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging you just in case you missed my answer. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 17:45, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I did, so thanks for the ping :) yes, that's exactly the sort of thing I'm after, thanks very much! Will keep this in mind. The best place to store the results, though... Dunno there. The usual procedure just says to link to the results, so linking to whatever URL the tool generates would be perfectly acceptable. Alternatively, appending the results to the bottom of Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/To do under "Upmerged stubs eligible for speedy creation" or similar would be fine. Buttons to Push Buttons (talk | contribs) 18:01, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've had a go at this lady from your User:Edgars2007/Women_in_religion list: a bit messy as she already had half an article at Adela and Irmina, shared with her sister - who had a separate article at Irmina of Oeren, not linked from the one about the pair! I ended up MOVEing the dual article to Adela of Pfalzel, editing it to remove stuff about Irmina (which was already in her article), and creating a little navigational page (which someone is going to want to delete as it's not a proper dab page) at the joint title. The Wikidata is a mess because there's a "two-person" record, but I've left a message on a Wikidata project talk page asking for someone to please try and fix it. I wonder whether the next on the list is a similar case? I might dare to have a look at her. PamD 22:21, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, although Irene von Thessaloniki († 304) is a red link, we have Irene of Thessalonica redirecting to Agape, Chionia, and Irene. I leave it to you to decide what to do about her. PamD 22:24, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And I've also created a minimal stub for Catherine of Palma, with lots of incoming redirects which include Catalina Thomás. PamD 23:30, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@PamD: thanks for the comments. Yes, there are some bad things about automatically generated lists - they may contain errors. I added a note about Irene of Thessalonica and a general note to double-check :) --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 07:59, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help?

Hi! I was doing a bit of searching for someone active that could speak Latvian. I posted at the Latvia WP, but I'm not sure if it would be seen given that the talk page seemed to be fairly inactive.

In any case, here's the situation. I recently restored a userspace draft, which I moved to Draft:Mazsalacas Secondary School. The article has some issues with tone and grammar, giving off the strong impression that the editor speaks English as a second language. They have a fairly good grasp, but there are very likely going to be policies and other things that could maybe pose an issue, if the language barrier is too large. The user in question is Nona118 and while there's nothing to guarantee that they're a native Latvian speaker, I think that it's likely given that they're writing about a Latvian secondary school and if this is the case, I think that it's also likely that they're affiliated with the school. Explaining policies about promotional content and COI tend to be one of the most difficult things to explain when/if there's a language barrier, hence why I'm here.

Can you help out any? Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:33, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Tokyogirl79: hi! OK, I will try to fix some language, so it is more English not Latvian and it can later be improved by native English speaker, and I will remove all that unencyclopedic stuff. But I don't know is the school itself notable enough. OK, it's located at historic manor (not unique, but also not very usual place for a school in Latvia), but there are definetily more important schools at Latvia. Writing to user, trying to explain COI and other stuff - don't know is it needed. That most probably is one-time user, and judging by the time, articledraft was created, it was a school project to write an article about it in English and Latvian. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 10:01, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect 2022 Summer Youth Olympics. Thanks a lot for the new template! Per your suggestion, I'm taking it to TFM to get input on merging it with TFD. Being bold would be reckless here, at least on my part, because I don't have a clue how this type of template works. Nyttend (talk) 14:26, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Women list

Hi. I started getting ready to run a trial on the new list you gave me, but there are some results that clearly aren't correct on that list. For instance, when I downloaded the wikitext version, 1978 smallpox outbreak in the United Kingdom was present. Could you detail how you generated this list and how to reduce such errors? I'm guessing the direction we should move in is someone from the WikiProject manually checking sections of the list and letting me know when a section is ready for tagging. ~ RobTalk 22:10, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@BU Rob13: Hi! Well, for this particular article the problem was, that at dewiki (and all other wikis) it is about the person. Actually, from Wikidata PoV these articles shouldn't get connected, because they are describing two different things. I think the list is good enough to tag articles. If you spot some errors, then you remove them, if you don't spot an error - well, tagging using enwiki categories also wouldn't be error-free. How I get the list you're asking? Simply going to dewiki's category "Frau" (Women) and converting links to enwiki links (via SQL, of course). You could also upload the list of potential tagging articles here, so that we don't work with 40 000 articles. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 05:53, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. I guess the problem is potential blow-back for errors. I'm going to upload the full list (in parts, because it's too large to just throw on one page) into my userspace tomorrow and I'll link that to you. If you could post it at WP Women and give people a chance to object in general or to pour over the lists if they care to, that's probably the best way to ensure no-one feels wronged by the few errors that are committed. ~ RobTalk 05:57, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Could you give me some details on how you've generated the list you gave me here? i.e. Exactly what tool you used to do so. I'm trying to figure out how the Ace Ventura one wound up there. I'm wondering whether it showed up due to a redirect. If that's the case, I'm not going to be able to weed them out, because the list I received would have changed redirects to their target. ~ RobTalk 19:13, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@BU Rob13: S*, really, how did Ace got there... Serously, I thought, that tagging articles, based on dewiki category would be the most easy thing :D Yes, probably it could be caused by resolving redirects... OK, give me some time, I will try to generate normal list (sorry for giving such bad list). But the articles themselves I got with this query:
select lde.ll_title
from dewiki_p.langlinks lde
#join dewiki_p.page pde on pde.page_id=lde.ll_from
where lde.ll_from in (select plade.page_id
                from dewiki_p.categorylinks clade
                join dewiki_p.page plade on clade.cl_from=plade.page_id
                where plade.page_namespace=0 and clade.cl_type="page" and
                                              clade.cl_to="Frau")
and lde.ll_from in (select mde.ll_from from dewiki_p.langlinks mde where mde.ll_lang="en")
and lde.ll_lang="en"
group by lde.ll_from

--Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 19:31, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. In an ideal world, I'd just have a list of all pages that Category:Frau was placed on (like list the redirects themselves, not the target article, if only the redirect is in the category). If you want, you can save that in a text file and email it to me so we don't have to use that wmflabs thing. I'm not a huge fan of that list. It makes for more work when I need to place the list onto the wiki. ~ RobTalk 19:41, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@BU Rob13: OK, now I think, I have a pretty good list. Those are dewiki Frau category articles, which don't have any of these banners: WikiProject Women, WikiProject Women artists, WikiProject Women's Health, WikiProject Women's History, WikiProject Women scientists, WikiProject Women's sport, WikiProject Women writers. I see there some redirects, section links, redlinks - all those should be skipped. Only 3tk items, but don't worry - you'll have many more articles to tag - one of next phases will be Women by nationality :) And there are so many projects to tag :D --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 20:10, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean by section links? ~ RobTalk 20:21, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@BU Rob13: "Page#Section". --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 20:22, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikidata lists form Women in Red

Hi Edgars! You did such a great job on Women photographers, I was wondering if you could help us out with Women entertainers in connection with our June editathon. It looks to me as if we should be covering actresses, comedians, dancers, filmmakers, models, radio and TV people and possibly the stage. The list on photographers has been a great help. I have frequently drawn on it myself and you will see it now contains a fair number of blue links.--Ipigott (talk) 11:39, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Ipigott! Hmm, this will be a little bit trickier than with photographers (which was simple, because I had to include simply photographers). So I should include
Currently I'm thinking about splitting lists, because there is time-limit for generating lists. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 11:55, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think you'll need to proceed more or less along these lines as we have no general category "entertainer". If you are going to split things up, I think the most useful list to create first would be actresses (and I don't see any real need for exclusions) as they probably also cover radio, TV and the stage. You may be able to cover directors, screenwriters and producers together too. In my opinion the dancers are less important as they have to some extent been covered by our work on music and ballet. Don't make things too difficult for yourself!--Ipigott (talk) 12:13, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your help requested again

Hi there. Further to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 144#Comments subpages, would you mind running one final query to find these pages?

Specifically, could you list all subpages of the form /Comments in the article talk namespace which are not blank and are not redirects. (There should not be many left now.)

Could you separately list any which are blank?

Many thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:47, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Edgar2007, Thanks for your attention to page Oļegs Latiševs. In this case, I believe that a non-standard template allows to present more information about the hero of the publication. Hi. I see you are listed as a member of a WikiProject of a Baltic state. I was wondering if anybody who actively works on Estonian, Lithuanian or Latvian articles, would be interested in launching your own Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Baltic), based on the Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic) and Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea would be to try to bring about 1000 article improvements and creations on this region as an enjoyable challenge and potentially things like National Contests with prizes. Edgarbot / Women in Red

Hi Edgars2007; I trust all is well with you. I would be grateful if you could explain to me how EdgarBot undertakes the addition of links from Wikidata to a Wikipedia article for Women in Red. I'm interested in a high-level algorithm. I ask out of interest, mainly, and because I know that counting new women articles is non-trivial given shortcomings in categoristion & talk-page tagging. Of course, please explain only if you have the time and are willing; I don't want to cause you great effort; you're probably busy.

I understand that you're polling category:Women by occupation. And doing what? Spotting new additions? How many levels of category do you look at? And then I guess, you're asking wikidata whether it has links for any of the articles you found. And if wikidata has no link, then you're doing what? Checking to see if there is an appropriate wikidata item against which to add a link? And is there is not, creating a new human/female item against which you post the link. Finally, how does the addition of new categories into the category:Women by occupation tree affect the bot: does it poll the new category in its entirety? Finally, how often does the EdgarBot WiR task run?

thanks --Tagishsimon (talk) 16:16, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Tagishsimon. Currently the short answer. This whole "Edgars2007 has written a script to mark enwiki articles as women at Wikidata" is a little bit too overestimated or what the proper word for that is in English. I don't have a script that I run frequently - this is one of many tasks, that I do at Wikidata when I remember. Yes, I look at new Women by occupation category tree. For enwiki articles, that don't have Wikidata items, I create them and mark them as persons and women. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 16:33, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I greatly appreciate what you do; I've flicked through your bot's wikidata contributions list and have an idea of some of the other things that occupy you time. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk) 16:40, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:55, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

Hi Edgar. The edit I'm here about was quite some time back, so you may know about this already, but please be aware that when you copy content from one Wikipedia to another—generic copying, splits, merges, etc.—you must provide copyright attribution in the edit summary by stating what you are doing, and linking to the source of the content where the page history is available so that the heart of our dual free copyright licenses – credit to the authors – is met. The specific instance of this is from this edit to Sapana Sapana, where you merged content from Sapna Punia without copyright attribution, and then redirected the latter to the former. For further information on the issue, please see generally Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia – and since this was a merge, you might also look at WP:MERGETEXT, where instructions on mandatory copyright attribution are also provided. There's nothing you need to do here, as I have repaired the issue (see WP:RIA) in this repair edit summary. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:14, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alterations to the WE-Framework gadget

Hi Edgars. Since you introduced me to the WE-Framework gadget over a year ago, I have made wide use of it, particularly in connection with biographies. Unfortunately, I see that alterations have been made to the gadget in the past day or two with the result that it no longer displays fields which are empty. This means that the only way of updating Wikidata entries is to go to Wikidata itself which many of us find too difficult or too time-consuming. Is there anything you can do to have the old version restored?--Ipigott (talk) 10:04, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template : Leamside Line RDT

On many of the articles in Wikipedia, there is a Template : RDT incorporated within it, which can be accessed as a separate entity. However, as hard as I can try, I cannot seem to access this separate entity for the Leamside Line.

I went to the "Download as a PDF" link, but all that gives is a broken line diagram. Could you assist or help in any way in this matter?

Xenophon Philosopher (talk) 00:44, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Xenophon Philosopher: The diagram is currently used directly inside the article; I'll move it to Template:Leamside line RDT. Jc86035 (talk) 05:36, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks. Most historically interesting lines do have their own Template RFT which can be accessed easily.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Skonto Riga Logo.svg

Thank you for uploading File:Skonto Riga Logo.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help with a query

Hi Edgars2007, you helped me with a query for gl.wiki a few months ago, and I wanted to know if you could help me with another one O:).

I need a query that returns the list of articles in gl.wiki that contain a certain text string. It's to make lists of articles with spelling errors and use them with the AWB. Can you tell me how I would have to do that query? For example, if I want to get a list of all the articles that have the word "extender", what would it be like? @Doc James: number of articles - yes, basically February (maybe it was something like January 30th, so pretty close). References - something like February 5th. ISBN - can we do this next year ;) The data crawl took approx 2 days. Don't want to put the stress on servers again. Useless redirect.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Speedy deletion nomination of Gatis Kandis

Hello Edgars2007,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Gatis Kandis for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can , but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

User:Edgars2007/tag.js

Hi there! I'm working to resolve all the issues in Category:Pages using WikiProject Mathematics with unknown parameters, and User:Edgars2007/tag.js is in this category. I believe the issue is that the |field= parameter is no longer supported by the template. Could you please tweak your script to remove it from the category? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 20:56, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Edgars2007 hey, not sure if you saw this, can you take a look at this? Gonnym (talk) 20:14, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gonnym and GoingBatty: ah, sorry. yes, probably went unnoticed the original reminder. i don't have any idea why i created that script - probably some copypaste to do some testing or stuff. now the maintanence category is clean. Edgars2007 (talk) 06:31, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Marie-Sára Štochlová requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Notice

The article IAAF Hall of Fame has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No coverage in independent sources; the entity seens defunct.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 10:48, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are you familiar with WP:SPORTCRIT? Specifically the last point of this guideline; "Sports biographies must include at least one reference to a source providing significant coverage of the subject, excluding database sources" ? Geschichte (talk) 21:27, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
