Kozhikode

Well, i couldn't access the the reference you gave for the demographic table [1]. But just on seeing the data (in the table, based on religion), i feel a doubt whether it's of Kozhikode district, not Kozhikode city. Pls make sure you verify. Thank You. Arjun024 16:17, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've been noticing you made a lot of changes redirecting Cheraman Perumal pages to Rama Varma Kulashekhara. The relation between the two is at best one of the many opinions that historians have, though its not accepted by the majority. See pg 144-145 Menon, Survey of Kerala History. The proper way would have been to add a section describing the opinions relating the two. Moving entire pages and rewriting the whole pages was not a proper way to do. Please modify your edits accordingly. Also for every fact of history you add, make sure you cite proper references, and make sure your references contain the facts you are adding. The Mark Wilks book you've mentioned does not have any four lakh figures, it only cites a proclamation banning polyandry with a threat of conversion if the royal order is not adhered to. Your contributions are most welcome, but views on history might differ according to different authors. There are a variety of opinions on most historic incidents and articles best written would have most of the notable views mentioned in a balanced NPOV way. Thank you for edits and the information added about Kerala. Lets make the whole section better together.NMKuttiady (talk) 09:45, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have deleted contents of the page Cheraman Perumal (Islamic convert) as "pasted" material. Please can you identify the source of this material and show how to find the material you deleted through the redirect you added? Redheylin (talk) 22:34, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The pasted material is from the recently created article Rama Varma Kulashekhara but with appropriate deletions and additions. For. eg. the user Dira786 has been selectively deleting the dates and periods after pasting the material thereby intentionally making the article ambiguous and unverifiable. However for some reason unkown to me s/he is not doing this to the main article itself. I suspect s/he prefers the ambiguous title to the true name. Hope this helps. thank you.Choosetocount (talk) 15:27, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK - thank you for helping to clarify this matter, which has previously caused some difficulty. Redheylin (talk) 16:41, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Saamoothiri

Isn't Saamoothiri's 1766 suicide story something that cannot be historically verified? I mean is it a legend or can we say for sure it's part of history? From hearsay, i was thinking it's kinda legend because i have even heard another legend where Samoothiri set fire to the palace and fled the state. just thought you were well into these topics. Arjuncodename024 22:00, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From my reading of Sreedhara Menon's and MGS Narayanan's work, I have not found any ambiguity regarding the fate of the Saamoothiri. I am sure we do not have any evidence like recovery of his body or something but they are certain that the Zamorin perished in the fire. Choosetocount (talk) 16:21, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Improve article

Can we improve the article Zamorin by adding more citation, and by an over-all coordination? This article also need an expert on the subject. Rameez pp (talk) 06:58, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pristolepis pentacantha, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Greek and Kabani. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
