          'Hamid Yazdani'
                    

Hamid Yazdani is a Urdu language poet of 80s who lives in Canada. The themes of his poetry range from romance to politics and from social issues to spirituality.


He has four books of poetry to his credit: ~ "Gehri Shaam Ki Bailein" - Vines of a Dark Evening (Collection of Urdu Poetry)-2007 ~ "Abhi Ik Khawab Rehta Hai"- A Dream; Yet to Go! (Urdu Poetry)-1992 & 2007. ~ "Raat Di Neeli Chup" – The Blue Silence of Night (Punjabi Poetry) 2002 ~ "Ita'at"- Obedience (Devotional Urdu Poetry)2010.

His writings have been appearing in prominent Urdu literary Magazines such as Funoon, Mehfil, Biswin Sadi, Afkaar, Adab e Lateef, Adabiyaat, Mah e Nau and Bayaaz and in newspapers like Jang, Nawa e Waqt, Imroze, Wifaq and Mashriq.

After getting a master's degree in Sociology from University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, he started his professional career as a college lecturer. He has also served Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Pakistan) Lahore as a Compere and Script Writer and radio Duetsche Welle, Cologne; the Voice of Germany, as a producer/editor.

Now, with a master's degree in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo (Canada) he works in the Social Services sector in Ontario.
