The official and not all that exciting John Niessen user page.
Originally from rural Mountain Lake township, Minnesota, I currently live and work in the Twin Cities. My formal education was obtained at Mountain Lake, Minnesota Public Schools, Bethel University (Minnesota) in Arden Hills, Bethel College (Kansas) in North Newton, and the University of Minnesota (St. Paul campus). I must add that the real learning began later.
I have lived in the following U.S. states: Minnesota, Kansas, South Dakota, and Iowa.
I have had the privilege of visiting (or in several cases, at least stepping on the ground at a major airport in) the following countries: Canada, Great Britain, Austria, Germany (West and East), Denmark, South Korea, Russian Federation, France, Turkey, and Greece. I would still like to visit Texas, Australia, Italy, and Israel.
I have a variety of eclectic interests, including choral music, Christian theology, Anabaptist & U.S. history, politics, media bias, muscle cars, 4-wheelers & snowmobiles, Israel, baseball, basketball, ethics, and genealogy. (So yes, I may have a case of undiagnosed ADD.)
I am married and the father of 3 children.
