Hello everyone. I currently study chemical engineering in college. I have occasionally edited Wikipedia anonymously on various IP addresses since 2014 primarily to remove vandalism and fix poorly written content. I hope to consolidate my work, become more active, and gain access to better tools by registering an account.
My username, EclipseDude, refers to my love for solar eclipses. I became an umbraphile at approximately 11:40 AM on August 21, 2017, in central Wyoming when the moon eclipsed the sun for about 105 seconds. I am now addicted to solar eclipses, especially those of the "total" variety. Lunar eclipses are also pretty cool. The "My Eclipses" section below lists which eclipses I have seen and those which I plan to see in chronological order.
My main work on Wikipedia right now is reviewing recent edits on the Recent Changes feed, older edits using STiki, new pages for obvious spam or vandalism, and pending changes. On occasion, I will improve an article (often related to eclipses in some way) if it is poorly written and in dire need of help. I also participate in AfD to a lesser extent.
I can also be found on the Freenode IRC, mainly in the #wikipedia-en channel (and occasionally #wikipedia-en-revdel when I need to report particularly nasty edits) under the same username as here.
To-do List
Convert Wikitable "infoboxes" to {{Infobox lunar eclipse}} in lunar eclipse articles and fill in any missing information. In progress
Things I have created
Here are articles I have started or otherwise significantly contributed to. I do not consider myself much of a content creator, but I try to help out when I am comfortable in doing so.
