Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]
This template adds articles to Category:WikiProject Anatomy articles. This template is a self-reference. Please add it to the article's talk page.
Usage
To add an article to the list, simply add the template to the talk page of the article with the following parameters:
{{WikiProject Anatomy
|class= (choose one: FA, A, GA, B, Start, Stub, Dab, Redirect, Template, Cat, Image, List, NA)
|importance= (choose one: Top, High, Mid, Low, NA)
|field= (choose one: animal, embryo, gross, meta, micro, neuro, organs, systems)
|needs-infobox=
|needs-image=
|listas=
}}
Optional parameters
- class – valid values are listed in the custom class mask. See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave
|class=
blank or omit the parameter. - field – sets the field of the article for categorization under the project, e.g.
|field=animal
- animal – use when the article is related to animal anatomy but also within the scope of Wikiproject Anatomy (for example: Cuticle) – populates Category:Anatomy articles about animal anatomy
- Note: if animal is used, it should also be tagged for Wikipedia:WikiProject Animal anatomy with
{{WikiProject Animal anatomy}}
and assessed
- Note: if animal is used, it should also be tagged for Wikipedia:WikiProject Animal anatomy with
- embryo – use when the article is related to embryology – populates Category:Anatomy articles about embryology
- gross – use when the article is related to gross anatomy – populates Category:Anatomy articles about gross anatomy
- meta – use when the article is related to the field of anatomy – populates Category:Anatomy articles about the field of anatomy
- micro – use when the article is related to microanatomy – populates Category:Anatomy articles about microanatomy
- NA – use when the article is a redirect to declutter the other categories – populates Category:Anatomy articles about NA
- neuro – use when the article is related to neuroanatomy – populates Category:Anatomy articles about neuroanatomy
- organs – use when the article is related to organs – populates Category:Anatomy articles about organs
- systems – use when the article is related to systems – populates Category:Anatomy articles about systems
- Omitting the parameter, or using any other value, populates Category:Anatomy articles about an unassessed area
- importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave
|importance=
blank or omit the parameter. - listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Henry Gray, use
|listas=Gray, Henry
so that the talk page will show up in the G's and not the H's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add|listas=
to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required. - needs-infobox – set
|needs-infobox=yes
if the article needs an infobox. Remember that infoboxes are not suitable for all articles, and can overwhelm short articles.- This parameter populates Category:Anatomy articles needing infoboxes.
- needs-image – set
|needs-image=yes
to mark the page as needing an image- This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested images of anatomy.
- category – set
|category=no
if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.
Aliases
- The parameter
|needs-photo=
is recognised as an alias for|needs-image=
. If both|needs-image=
and|needs-photo=
are present,|needs-photo=
is ignored.
