but as fujoshi is better known, it is often used to refer to female otaku as a group.

↑that makes no sense, since when was it used to refer female otaku as a whole? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.90.197.135 (talk) 00:21, 12 March 2008 (UTC) So, the term only refer to yaoi fangirls? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.69.4.187 (talk) 21:22, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm wondering if anyone has a citation for the usage of the term yujioshi, or at the very least, the proper kanji for it, because I can't seem to find anything out there about it that isn't essentially a reference to the text on this page. However, I have found a Douban group called 百合 腐女子 ('yurifujoshi'). I have tried to search for variations of yujioshi, yujoshi, yujyoshi, yurijoshi, yurijyoshi, yurijioshi, as well as 百合 腐女子 and 百女子 , but that's the best I could come up with. Organisation

I have noticed that this article is VERY poorly organised. The 'opening' could probably be split further, which would make it easier to read. ~Sana (talk) 10:12, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I took a stab at reorganizing. Feel free to modify further. JRBrown (talk) 16:04, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The reorganisation's very good - part of the problem with the initial versions of the article after the merge from yaoi was that I'd crammed everything 'fandom' into one section, when it's more complex than that. --Malkinann (talk) 22:08, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Types of Fujoshi

I would like to ask others if they think this section either be rewritten or removed altogether. It is very difficult to make sense of, especially the Pandajoshi part. I would like to fix the grammar but I'm not even really clear on the intended meaning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LA2858 (talk • contribs) 05:49, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The image

I feel like it should be updated, it is more then 10 years old. But I'm interested in hearing another's opinion before doing so. Natasha862 (talk) 05:53, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Age isn't a reason to change it, but if you find an image you can use which illustrates the subject matter better, go ahead. --Pokelova (talk) 05:56, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion

With yaoi having now moved to boys' love, seems like it makes sense to re-title this article as well. Three obvious options spring to mind, but I'm open to suggestions as well:

  1. Boys' love fandom
  2. BL fandom
  3. Fujoshi (also the title used by most international versions of the page)

@Paul 012, HypeBoy, Lullabying, Iwaqarhashmi, and Historyday01: Pinging you all as participants in the original boys' love page move discussion. Morgan695 (talk) 23:22, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'd favor option #1. Unfortunately, during the move, the opening of Boys' love was not changed in the way I suggested... sigh. Historyday01 (talk) 23:26, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fine with option #1 or #2, but since the main article uses the term "Boys' love" and not "BL", I'm probably leaning slightly more toward option #1 for consistency reasons, with the rest of this article using "BL" for subsequent mentions of the term. Option #2 would be a close second as the usage of "BL" is more common. I'm opposed to option #3 since this article covers not only the female BL fans (which is what fujoshi is) but also the male fans, hence the term is not inclusive. — ‎‎‎hhypeboyh 💬 • ✏️ 00:15, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, whatever is decided here should also be applied to List of yaoi anime and manga and List of yaoi games. Morgan695 (talk) 18:27, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
