Inclusion criteria for notable past players
Criteria used to restore this section for teams at the NPL-WA level were players that:
- played for the club at a youth or senior level;
- had represented the Australian national team;
- had amassed over 100 games with Perth Glory FC in the A-League;
- have their own Wikipedia article where this information is easily cross-referenced;
- had represented senior national football teams (where they were not Australian players).
Steve Cookson - notable player ?
Hi Fenix down. Not sure that I follow your reversion in section Notable players. By definition if the article Steve Cookson is allowed to exist then the subject is notable as per WP:GNG. Also if there is some other presumption, as per above, then the article meets points 21 and 4 anyway. Eno Lirpa (talk) 15:04, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Eno. We don't normally list notable players on the grounds that they are notable per WP standards, as that is what categories are for and a hatnote can be added to the top of section to link to the category page. Not sure what you mean by points 2 and 4. Do you mean the list above? If so, I don't see anything in the player article that indicates they played senior international football and point 4 I have already discussed. You're more than welcome to change the inclusion criteria but I would suggest only 2, 3 and 5 would be appropriate. Fenix down (talk) 15:37, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry, I meant points 1 and 4. If the word notable does not always mean notable then surely we should use some other word. Are you saying the top goal scorer for a league in a season is not a noteworthy point for an article about the club it was achieved for ? Are you saying that player of the season is not a noteworthy point for an article about the club it was achieved for ? Eno Lirpa (talk) 13:38, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
