Tweaks to get back to GA status

In the references, there are 10 dead links and "work" and "publisher" should be uniform. Example: The Hollywood Reporter should be italicized, some are and some aren't. Some are linked when they shouldn't be and not even the first one is linked. Also, there are a few references that aren't filled in and as a GA, all references need to be completely filled in. The 3'rd to last sentence in "Early Life" is incorrect according to the sited source. It claims that Jackson has conquered his speech impediment however the article clearly states that he still has trouble with it, although less frequently. Thesowismine (talk) 00:06, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done Agree and have rewritten accordingly. Have also expanded it as the previous version made it sound like saying "motherfucker" is what helped him when the article describes him pretending to be people who don't stutter (which I find just as interesting for an actor), and using the curse word as an affirmation word. I think my wording could be improved on, but can't think of a better way presently Cannolis (talk) 15:18, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, Jackson has appeared in four films with actor Bruce Willis (National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1, Pulp Fiction, Die Hard with a Vengeance, and Unbreakable)

Is there by any chance if someone could delete the entire "Known for" section in the infobox. The reason is that it's unnecessary to have, because we don't need a reminder on his best known roles that he's known for in the infobox. Because his known roles are already mentioned in the other sections of the article below. 2600:1000:B062:45D1:799F:DF22:898C:3E9 (talk) 02:01, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In the early life section of Samuel L Jackson’s life it states that he took a job as a social worker in Los Ángeles.

You need to not only have a college major in social work, but also MUST be licensed by the state you are practicing in, in order to be referred to as a social worker.

Please list where and when he received his social work degree, in addition to when he became licensed to practice the profession, otherwise edit the job title to something more appropriate. 47.221.74.88 (talk) 03:20, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: We rely on reliable sources. In this case, the description of Jackson's one-time employment as social worker is reliably sourced to an article in the Chicago Tribune on February 24, 1993, and we are not required to conduct a background investigation of the subject to verify it (in fact, we are prohibited from doing so by Wikipedia policy). We also cannot "edit the job title to something more appropriate", thereby contradicting our cited source. General Ization Talk 03:30, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please edit wiki

I looked at Samuel Jackson credits in his wiki and tried to edit myself. He appears in True Romance. A Tarantino film from what I know. His first. Jackson is murdered at close range by shotgun blast after he states some unfavorable language. It’s early in the film. Setting the drug robbery up for Christian Slater when he comes to collect the property of his new wife and call girl. Gary Uldman confronts him and says, “that makes us practically related”. It’s a bloody scene and a great movie filled with fabulous dialogue. Please credit him with this film. 2601:404:C181:3240:FD82:3E11:9DB2:496C (talk) 01:12, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Third-highest grossing actor as of March 20, 2023

The current article says Jackson is the "second highest-grossing actor of all time", linking to the following list article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_actors). However, the list article itself puts him as the third highest grossing, under 1% shy of the second highest. Jackson must have just moved down the list recently. 2601:240:8201:C6C0:297B:448D:2B1C:9357 (talk) 01:05, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of alcohol/drug addiction and recovery?

Jackson has been open about having abused alcohol and drugs in the 70s and 80s and pursuing treatment and recovery in the early 90s which led directly to his career taking off. This should be added to the personal life section.
