Talk:Rum cake

Rename to Black cake

This article needs to be renamed BLACK CAKE. I'm not cure why the person who started it used that title since in most of the english Caribbean they call it Black Cake. Jamaica, TRinidad, Guyana, St.Vincent and others

Calling the article Rum came causes confusion...like this, which the article is not talking about. and You cannot blame theses people "In Puerto Rico, rum cake is called Bizcocho de Ron, and is a sponge cake, so as to absorb the rum. If fruit is added to it, it is fresh or dried. Raisins and sultanas may be soaked in rum for one day or one night. Bizcochos de Ron are given as gifts during the holiday season, but they are not considered an insulting gift, the way fruitcakes in the U.S. are."

Also in the american South they have Rum Cake which is a sponge type cake soaked in rum, before being served like in Porto rico.Starbwoy (talk) 05:59, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Black cake merged into this article in 2012. RobDuch (talk) 04:12, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
