Not a subspecies
The Northwest African Cheetah is not a true subspecies, as supported by these references[1][2]
It is incorrectly ascribed, even thought the BBC published an article about it.
I recommend removing the page or editing it significantly to take into account this incorrectly ascribed subspecies.

- The BBC article refers to it as a subspecies, as does the IUCN red list. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 19:55, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with Dante... Cheetah= Acinonyx jubatus; Northwest African Cheetah= Acinonyx jubatus ssp. hecki. Also see the second ref. above The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and the following for confirmation... The Big Zoo -- Cheetah. Please don't make edits in Wikipedia without looking at previous discussion and also get yourself an ID! Don't hide like a skunk behind an IP address (76.120.130.245).
