Talk:Noele Gordon

Tone

Article reads like a hagiography/fanboy homage. Have deleted the bulk of the POV and trimmed the gushing praise, but still plenty of work to be done. 86.151.96.198 (talk) 17:22, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Separate page for 'Lunchbox'?

'Lunchbox' is described as a daily live entertainment show which pioneered daytime broadcasts, and ran to over 2,000 episodes.

I think it merits its own page. Valetude (talk) 23:58, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Affair with Val Parnell?

It was documented in an ITV documentary about her that she was in a long-running affair with early TV impresario Val Parnell[1][2], a major factor in her TV roles on ITV. Shouldn't this be included? Indieshack (talk) 06:36, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot be 'British of Scottish descent'

Both the English and Scots are British. It is illogical to list someone as being 'British of Scottish descent', and perhaps Anglophobic. In her autobiography, Noele describes herself as 'English' on at least one occasion, and had no truck with the dreadful bigotry posing as nationalistic pride which makes up a disturbing minority of Scots Nats. I think the wrongful listing does Nolly a grave disservice. She was about all unity, not bigotry. (81.129.126.104 (talk) 18:03, 18 May 2023 (UTC))[reply]

Noele was English, but it seems both her parents were Scots living in England, so it's worth a mention. See Reference 4, https://www.noelegordon.co.uk/bio/ Her father James (who was what used to be called 'absurdly good-looking') was awarded the OBE for his Merchant Navy service during the Second World War. Her widowed mother Joan made several 'background' appearances in Crossroads, including one as the first guest seen to check in at the desk in Episode 1, which is quite amusing.
