Thank you very much, anther question - I recently tried to install Microsoft Pinyin IME 2003 on Windows Vista Business and it didn't install, the comments in the article say it's supported on Vista. Are there different versions? --Anatoli (talk) 21:06, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The one that's bundled is not called Microsoft Pinyin IME 2003 and it definitely doesn't IME Pad (which recognises handwriting). Vista's Chinese IME allows to select radicals (like any default Chinese IME) but Microsoft default IME's never allow to draw, if you know what I mean. My point is, I always had to use a downloadable version (Microsoft Pinyin IME 2003), so that I could enter some characters, I don't know the pronunciation of, I can't do that on Vista, any more. It seems there is a confusion with IME names and which version works where. I may have confused you. Please ask, if you don't understand what I mean. Actually, this missing IME Pad doesn't work if the keyboard is "Chinese PRC" (simplified), it works with traditional.--Anatoli (talk) 01:04, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a website that has a tutorial on how to install it. If you look at this picture from that page, you should see the paint bucket icon immediately to the left of the small red circle, that would give you access to the IME Pad.

If you do not see the paint bucket icon, it should be hidden. To unhide it, Maximize the language toolbar, make sure you are in Chinese mode, click on the downward triangle on the lower right corner of the maximized toolbar, that should show you the selection of the hidden icons.

In the IME pad, there should be 2 icons on the left side. One is for radical search, the other is for scribble. --Voidvector (talk) 02:02, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot, Voidvector! It looks like the one I need. Although, I remember following the normal instructions (I have used IME Pad on Windows XP and other versions for a long time).
