URFA/2020
I am marking this article "Satisfactory" at WP:URFA/2020, but the following should be addressed:
- The Trautmann book citations should have page numbers.
- This Youtube channel does not have the "official" checkmark, meaning it is not reliable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3KLtf8DzCU An entire para is cited to this Youtube interview.
- Not a reliable source: https://buttonbasher.wordpress.com/2006/07/27/interview-master-chief-steve-downes/ Only an interview, but sourcing like that for interviews is questioned in today's FAC.
- The same probably applies to Tied the Leader. Hog Farm Talk 23:54, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:45, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- No consensus on the reliability of Vice at WP:RSP, it is probably not HQ-RS for FA purposes
- WP:VGRS says that Kotaku post-2010 is RS, but there's a 2007 Kotaku used on two occassions.
- What is Halo Waypointer, and is it HQ-RS?
- Cheat Code Central is listed as unreliable at WP:VGRS.
Marking as satisfactory with those note, as these sourcing issues are overall minor, and a FAR is not warranted. Hog Farm Talk 23:54, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hog Farm how is this still FA? can you send it to WP:FAR, article isn't too good to be FA. Possibly the same thing as Arbiter (Halo) and Tawny owl that doesn't deserved to be FA. 58.187.231.180 (talk) 06:43, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- @58.187.231.180: - Could you elaborate a little more as to what your concerns are with these? Hog Farm Talk 03:46, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hog Farm Well, There's still no action for this page to be improved. 58.187.231.180 (talk) 06:48, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- While I'm fairly certain this is just trolling, perhaps you can give concrete details on the issues you have with the article? Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 19:23, 19 September 2021 (UTC)

Helmetless Chief
Since the Chief took off his helmet in the TV show, shouldn't we have a picture of that here? I mean, the show doesn't even make it a spoiler anymore. Leader Vladimir (talk) 04:11, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- His appearance on the show isn't a huge part of the overall character's impact; given that it's a real actor portraying him, it's arguably a tough sell for a non-free screenshot of the character helmetless when you could have an image of Pablo Schreiber that would fulfill much of the same intent, as well. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 19:01, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- Can it be done? Can we just include a picture and Pablo and say "this is what the Chief looks like without his helmet pm the TV show?" Leader Vladimir (talk) 00:11, 13 May 2022 (UTC
- I went ahead and added a free image per this discussion. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 09:49, 4 June 2022 (UTC)

Clearly the Halo character is the most well known "Master Chief". Theres no other named only as "Master Chief" and the article Master chief petty officer can stay as is. So I think it should be primary topic. BloatedBun (talk) 06:51, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose - it's actually kind of unclear whether the page about the real military rank should be in lowercase. The DOD refers to it in uppercase, such as here for the page on Michael D. Stevens. Thus it would constitute a confusing overlap with the real rank, especially since actual Master Chief Petty Officers are referred to as "Master Chief ___". The Master Chief's name came directly from the military rank so it also does not have longterm significance. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 07:15, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose with the new TV show, it might be better at John-117 instead -- 64.229.88.43 (talk) 07:27, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Withdraw I guess im gonna withdraw this discussion. Arguments above are reasonable. BloatedBun (talk) 07:34, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Reception extension for the Master Chief of the TV series?
Should there be a paragraph under the Reception section about the Master Chief in the television series? The Reception section does have a lot to say about him on the first two "Reclaimer Saga" games with reliable sources, and the show's article itself has reliable sources to talk about the Chief's reception and controversies there. So, can the same be done here on his reception section? 2600:1700:9770:6760:F188:348E:5B50:43BF (talk) 01:00, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
