Doodlebugs

"In World War II doodlebugs were dropped on an oast house by Mill Lane and smashed its cowl, and a zeppallin used to be above Vines Lane." Doodlebugs (V1s) were pilotless explosive-filed aircraft and flew/fell rather than being dropped. Since the point of impact was only roughly determined at the time of launch in France it is highly unlikely that two V1s fell on the same oast house. Zeppelins were airships used in WW1 and not in WW2. The V1 carried 850kg of high explosive so if it fell on the oast house and exploded it would have damaged more than the cowl. The whole story is unsourced. So amended for now to "In World War II a doodlebug (V1) fell near an oast house by Mill Lane and smashed its cowl." Fosse Bank School

I note that the Fosse Bank School article has been proposed for merger into this article. I Oppose the merger, as a former independent secondary school, the school is notable enough to sustain an independent article. It's long association with Tonbridge is another reason that it should not be merged here. Mjroots (talk) 21:16, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose merger - it is quite clearly notable enough in its own right. Tallguyuk (talk) 14:04, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Spoof article?

The inordinate amount of detail in this excessively long article about a minor village suggests that this might be a spoof article. Such articles are sometimes created for a bet or as a dare. 86.147.171.249 (talk) 02:15, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
