The article classifies the program as a "free program", which may imply that it is free software (with a license approved by the Free Software Foundation). For a computer program to be approved as free software, it must have its source code distributed (among a number of other preconditions). I cannot find the source code for HDDerase. Of course, to know for sure whether a program meets the guidelines set by the Free Software Foundation (or the Open Source Initiative, etc.), the license should be read. I did not read the license. However, to be on the safe side, I think I have reason to go ahead and change "free program" to "freeware". The Aviv (talk) 11:08, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
