Talk:Cyclone Lola (2023)

Lola's image

Good Afternoon my fellow wikipedians, I am taking this image discussion to the talk page because it is the right thing to do, since we are have a little dispute of which image to use since there is multiple images at or around Lola's peak intensity, so we need a consenus on which image to use. I would go with either Image 1 and Image 4, because the problem with Image 2 is that it is not true color it is one of the visible channels aboard Himawari 9 plopped onto the August 2004 blue marble other than that Image 2 has a clear eye, and then Image 3 the sun glare is obscuring the eye while Images 1,2, and 4 the eye is clearly visible, and per WPTC/IMG "clarity of the storm image and its context should be prioritized over its exact time close to its peak intensity", even though all these images were taken at or around peak intensity, it is the clarity aspect I'm going with here. Also, I'm going to ping @TheEasternEditer since you have a different opinion about this. TheWxResearcher (talk) 20:45, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am not bothered about what image is used but just had to remove the wikitable in order to keep this page accessible.Jason Rees (talk) 23:11, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'd rather do Image 4. While I do like Image 1 and we've used Himawari 9 TC images in the past, it isn't really truer to color compared to Image 4 coming from EOSDIS Worldview which I prefer over others. The rest of the images are, no offense, horrible images to put as Lola's main image, since Image 2 is a png instead of the preferred jpeg file format while Image 3's features are just not well-defined at all compared to Image 4. ~ Sandy14156 (Talk ✉️) 03:38, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would use Image 4. While Image 2 is good, I think it needs to be in its true color form, and not in the Blue Marble since satellites today have more imagery bands than the old days. Regards, 👦 23:32, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
