This article could use some nice maps --Hunnjazal (talk) 04:07, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Cultural capital of India:
A Capital is the base for one’s Identity, niter any Classical Dance / Music/ Art- paining / Monument / ancient Indian architect are origin from Kolkata. The claim is baseless and self declared false propagation. The link given is about the culture of Kolkata and by this it can’t claim the cultural capital of India. We can consider a place as cultural capital of India where their Music, Art, Dance, language, architecture are origin from Indian culture and should be classical. Calcutta have none of these. nither the language is classical , nor they have any classical dance or Music or have any Indian Classical architecture or Painting/ Art. Every part of India have their own unique culture if they start claiming their own place as capital then there will be 10000 of cultural capitals in India. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.165.63.132 (talk) 09:17, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- Dear anti-Bengal IP, the article just says it is 'known as' the cultural capital. That is accurate. We could perhaps change this to "referred to as" I guess. Dougweller (talk) 10:37, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
Dear Dougweller, You can't address some one as 'Dear anti-Bengal'. in wiki we expect every member will behave properly. Please don’t lose the professionalism in a global forum while some one giving their valid opinion. Wiki is not a state sponsored site that one can copy a baseless link and try to claim something and no will oppose it?? Nether I am pro or anti of any neutral comments. But I have given my view. And there is no evidence whatever you are claiming. The give links are just a blog not a standard medium that you can use as reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.165.63.132 (talk) 13:07, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- Um, comments such as " your desperate unhealthy community" (and more in the same vein) at[1] and your other edits don't show you are anti-Bengali? [{The Telegraph]] is a reliable source for the statement 'known as'. Take it to WP:RSN if you disagree, but don't keep adding fact tags. Dougweller (talk) 14:11, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
“Cultural Zones of India” is declared by Govt of India’s Department of Culture. There is no official declaration about any cultural Capital or there is no enough cause that one can claim Kolkata for same. Please share some Govt link for same or remove it from Wiki. The link are from some blog and any one can do so. We can’t consider its as evidence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tanmaya cs (talk • contribs) 13:23, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- The article doesn't say there is a cultural capital of India. Same comments as to the IP, if the IP isn't you. Dougweller (talk) 14:11, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
