Logos

Anyone got a CAS logo to add to the page. Can't find any on the web Moa999 10:02, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Note, ONLY the CAS logo can go on this article under Wikipedia's Fair Use policies. All the school logos should be removed, their being on this article opens the way for the images to be deleted (not just removed from this article, but deleted).Garrie 22:55, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
How would removing any of these logos open the way for them to be deleted? Each of these schools has an article where the logo is certainly appropriate under fair use. Logos are the way an organisation wishes to be referred to; could someone point me to a discussion on why it is not fair use to use the logo in an article such as this? Note that some of these crests may not even be copyright any longer. John Vandenberg 12:55, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Per discussions on talk:Public Schools Association, the images need to be removed from this because it doesnt consitute fair use. It is ok to have them on the individual school articles, but not here. They are in no way being deleted. They are just being removed from this article. Note: I have done this throughout the Category:Australian schools associations. Cheers. Twenty Years 13:02, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of whether some of the schools dont have pages, it looks ugly with only some of the schools having pics in the table, so theyve all been deleted. Twenty Years 13:10, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
An alternative solution could have been to upload images of the other schools. John Vandenberg 13:27, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) One user saying "per the Non Free content criteria policy section 3, 8 and 10" is hardly a detailed discussion. Section 3 doesnt seem applicable for trademarks as its intend is to minimise how much of the copyright material is used, while logos should be used in their entirety and in reasonably high quality; using logos in tables does help readers so removing them per 8 is also a bold call, and 10 merely requires that images have been appropriate described, which anyone can fix (i.e. does not related to using logos in tables such as this article). A related discussion can be found here: Wikipedia:Fair_use/Historical_logos_in_galleries. (I'm still looking...) John Vandenberg 13:27, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to be perfectly honest, i wouldnt know what the policies are regarding it. But i am following direction from that discussion which i mentioned. That person is an administrator, and highly respected WA admin. I would ask him for further clarification. Twenty Years 13:56, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
