- No QPQ needed. Hook is interested, although you really should list the source again here; it's de Crespigny, Rafe (2018). Generals of the South: The Foundation and Early History of the Three Kingdoms State of Wu. This checks out, however. Article seems in decent shape, although might need a round of copyediting; it's presentable, but some of the sentences are phrased a little clunkily. Wu shu (historical text) → Book of Wu – Seems in line with each of our other dynastic history articles. Remsense诉 19:57, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

- Support, there's no reason to use the Pinyin version of such a simple title when we can easily and uncontroversially translate it. Of the two English sources cited I can only access one, Generals of the South, which does indeed use Wu shu instead of translating it, but this is hardly enough evidence to declare a strong WP:COMMONNAME and override having a comprehensible title for English speakers. Toadspike [Talk] 20:53, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support – WP:Natural disambiguation seems to support using the unambiguous title "Book of Wu" over the ambiguous "Wu shu" with the parenthetical. A quick Google Books search shows that some sources do call this the "Book of Wu". —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 02:47, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support: this page already falls by default into the disambiguation page Wushu, reflecting the ambiguity of Pinyin-romanised terms as article titles. As stated above, WP:NATDIS very aptly applies, as the WP:PARENDIS policy immediately after it explicitly describes parentheticals as a secondary option. Benjitheijneb (talk) 22:45, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support: The new name is much more natural, and per WP:Natural disambiguation. --Wengier (talk) 17:40, 11 July 2024 (UTC)

Congratulations for your first GAN. Please treat my remarks below as recommendations. If you do not agree with any of them, please inform me, but also share with me your reasons focusing on GA criteria.
- List the year of publication, the publisher and an isbn or issn for each works cited in the Bibliography section. Borsoka (talk) 04:29, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think putting a specific edition for any of the texts would be helpful because they are already on Wikisource. Kzyx (talk) 03:13, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- We need at least one picture and possibly also a map.
- The Wu shu was first commissioned by Sun Quan probably around 250. Introduce both the terms Wu shu and Book of Wu in the first sentence of the main text. What is its genre? Introduce Sun Quan with one or two words. Make clear the venue. CE or BCE? Why did Quan commission the work?
- Introduce Hua He with one or two words.
- ..., quoted in the Sanguozhi biography of Xue Ying,... Delete, or move to a footnote. If you moved it to a footnote, also introduce Xue Ying with one or two words.
- Links to Court Historian and Palace Gentlaman?
- Introduce Sun Liang as Sun Quan's successor.
- ...another compilation committee replaced Ding Fu and Xiang Jun at the suggestion of regent Zhuge Ke, consisting of Wei Zhao, Zhou Zhao, Xue Ying, Liang Guang (梁廣), and Hua He himself. Rephrase and split it into two sentences.
- Introduce Wei Zhao, Zhou Zhao, Xue Ying, Liang Guang each with one or two words.
- ...(梁廣)... Delete.
- The new committee faced difficulty in compiling the work due to interference. Compiling or completing? Interference by what, how and why?
- No more details about Liang Guang's death are recorded, but a supplementary note... Contradiction.
- No more details about Liang Guang's death are recorded, but a supplementary note in the Sanguozhi biography of Bu Zhi states that Zhou Zhao was sent to prison, and although Hua He petitioned the emperor on his behalf, he would be executed. Shorten the text radically: according to a source, he was executed. Do we know why he was executed?
- ...and his family exiled to Lingling Commandery... Delete.
- Introduce Sun Hao with one or two words.
- Xue Ying had once commanded a garrison at Wuchang, ...
- ...that Xue Ying was one of he few men... Why not past perfect?
- This time, his words were acted upon and... Delete.
- ...on the Left Some context and a link?
- Xue Ying had also been exiled ... Why past perfect?
- In his memorial, Hua He states that the change of committee was due to Ding Fu and Xiang Jun being incapable of completing the work,[2] but Rafe de Crespigny argues that it likely that the change of committee was caused by political factionalism, as Ding Fu was learned enough to have compiled the Hanguan yishe xuanyong, a study of the official selection system of the Han, and the Han yi, a study of the rituals of the Han,[11] Rafe de Crespigny also notes that it is recorded that when Zhuge Ke came to power at the end of the reign of Sun Quan he pushed liberal and reformist policies, which further suggests a political component to the change of committee. This fits into the previous section when the dismissal of the first compilers is mentioned. Split the long first sentence into at least two.
- Introduce Rafe de Crespiny with one or two words.
- ...it is recorded that... Delete, or explain it.
- ..., quoted in Pei Songzhi's annotations to the Sanguozhi annals of Sun Quan,... Delete or move to a footnote.
- The only substantial portion of the Wu shu's text that remains is the quotations in Pei Songzhi's Annotations to the Records of the Three Kingdoms, along with the likely inclusion of large amounts of uncredited text included in the Records of the Three Kingdoms by Chen Shou. Split into at least two sentences.
- Introduce Pei Songzhi with one or two words.
- When were the Annotations to the Records of the Three Kingdoms and the Records of the Three Kingdoms compiled?
- Introduce Cao Cao, Dong Zhou, Sun Jian, Chen Shou, Cao Song and Tao Quian each with one or two words.
- ...(志林)...(劉聲叔)... Delete.
- ...; and refusing a ceremonial toast at a banquet, citing health reasons, as he was trying to retire from the court due to old age Delete.
- ...during the final years of the Han dynasty... When?
- ...fully incorporated its material into the main Sanguozhi text When?
- The Book of Sui records a copy of the Wu shu containing 25 chapters out of an original 55, and the bibliographies of the Old Book of Tang and the New Book of Tang record a copy of the book containing the complete 55 chapters. Timeframe of each book mentined?
- The book was later lost. Which book?
- Translate the Chinese texts in references 3, 5, 6, 8, 13.
- Modern historians' evolution of the Book of Wu is missing. Do they regard it as a reliable source, etc?
