Jetsun Pema was a 'commoner'?
Section "Family Structure" under "Culture" says the queen was a 'commoner' when she married the king. Is this correct? Reading her page, it seems she is closely related to the royal family, and does not sound like a commoner at all. Alexandriensis (talk) 07:32, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Image: "British envoys in Bhutan's royal court in 1905"
Bhutan did not establish a Monarchy until 1907, so there could not have been a 'Royal Court' at this time.
Apparently the photo was taken in 1905, when the British were presenting the Durbar of Ugyen Wangchuck with the order of the Knight Commander of the Indian Empire, in return for help in securing the trade route from British India to Tibet Carpathia (talk) 20:19, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
