Comparable in toxicity?

The article writes: "The oxides of arsenic, antimony, and bismuth are comparable in their toxicity, but their volatilities differ widely."

Here in the article, for Antimony trioxide is an LD50 given of 5000mg/kg (rat), while 200mg arsenic trioxide is a deadly dose for humans (I read about deaths starting from a dose of 50 to 70mg), Bismuth trioxide on the other hand is far less toxic than antimony trioxide.

I think what is meant here is that the toxic action of the three mentioned oxides are comparable (meaning similar symptoms are produced), but the toxicity differs a lot with the arsenic oxides being the most toxic and the bismuth oxides being the least toxic.

Can someone with a little background (or with non-wiki references at hand) (de)confirm and change this accordingly? Aszazin (talk) 12:14, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
