Accenture
I removed the following listing (there's currently no mentiom of "Android" in the Accenture article):
I didn't merge this into the Accenture article on the basis that it's too trivial.
I also removed the ==References== section per MOS:DAB: References should not appear on disambiguation pages. Dab pages are not articles; instead, incorporate the references into the target articles. 92.1.93.82 (talk) 07:48, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

You have been misinformed
A robot is still a just a robot, whether it's a convincing representation of a human being or not. In Edward Hamilton's Captain Future series, and in Robert Silverberg's novel, Tower of Glass, an android is a synthetic ["man-made"] living being designed to obey humans. Usually endoskeletal and therefore soft to the touch, it eats some sort of food, drinks water, and breathes the oxygen from the air. Maybe it can reproduce itself; maybe they're all decocted from vats--like the Frankenstein of the novel was. Perhaps the confusion is due to George Lucas's Star Wars--he called what were clearly robots by a word that wasn't 'robot'; hence the term 'android' was abused. There is no need for the term "bio-android". 4.154.253.202 (talk) 20:49, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Android
The use of the pagename Android is under discussion, see Talk:Android_(operating_system)#Requested_move. 65.95.13.139 (talk) 02:39, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Commented out
The Android (Dragon Ball) entry was commented out, and should not be included as the article does not mention a character called Android, but several characters called Android #<no.> . Widefox (talk) 18:44, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

- Um, no, there's no discussion in progress. The last discussion was on March 2011. And by the way, ANDROID SHOULD BE ABOUT ANDROID OS. IT'S THE MOST USED OS IN THE WORLD, FFS. Unless you're reading talk pages on paper, you're using an OS.5.12.158.139 (talk) 16:58, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Android → Android (disambiguation) – Per https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Android, people are substantially more likely to be looking for the operating system. ~3000 outgoing pageviews last month were to the OS, with only ~1000 to the robot. JayCubby Talk 01:35, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please note that a previous attempts to move the Dab page was was unanimously rejected about a year and a half ago so I find it difficult to believe that the consensus has changed so dramatically in such a relatively short timeframe.--67.70.103.133 (talk) 05:54, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. My position has not changed since the previous RM. I still prefer to error here on the side of the long-term significance aspect of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, with Android (robot) having about the same equal weight of 'enduring notability and educational value'. Especially when you consider all these fictional androids in science fiction and pop culture like Data from Star Trek and KOS-MOS from Xenosaga. Or look up most dictionaries on "Android" and the first definition is almost always about the robot topic. Zzyzx11 (talk) 08:12, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. As per above. "Android" is one single, relatively common word in English (especially fiction). The most common usage of the word is the OS but Android (robot) is far too common of a concept to not have dab brackets for the other most common concept. </MarkiPoli> <talk /><cont /> 10:46, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose, no primary topic. See Android (robot), among others. 162 etc. (talk) 17:21, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per Apple and Apple Inc. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 19:14, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Granted, WikiNav isn't a perfect answer, but the vast majority of people who visit Apple aren't looking for the company, rather the fruit. Last month, there were ~75,000 incoming pageviews, and only 3300 people who visited Apple clicked on the hatnote, taking them to Apple Inc. See https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Apple JayCubby 20:21, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per above. WP:NOPRIMARY. JeffSpaceman (talk) 22:23, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose The operating system fails the longterm significance criterion - this is unlikely to change, and I'd say the robot has a higher chance of becoming primary in the future if such humanoid robots become commonplace and the OS is replaced by a different name. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 06:22, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. The robot meaning is just as significant if not more so. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:40, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
