During my revision, I removed references of identifying "amabie" as a "she"
It is true that amabie is shown with long hair, unlike the amabiko examples, and -biko (-hiko) does indicate a male name.
So it is rather convincing and make logical sense, but it needs explicit statement on gender from commentators, which I have not found yet.
