The Korea–Mongolia Greenbelt Project (Mongolian: Монгол-Солонгосын Ойн Aж Aхуйн Xамтарсан; Korean: 한-몽 그린벨트 사업단) is a forestation in Lün, Töv Province, Mongolia.

History

The project was launched in 2006 as an initiative between Korea Forest Service and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia when a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two sides.[1] In 2008, the forestation work began.[2]

Geography

The forest covers an area of 3,046 hectares.[3]

Vegetations

There are more than 800,000 trees planted, which consist of 23 species.[1]
