It's A Dog's Life is the 12th episode of the fourth season of The Ren & Stimpy Show that originally aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 3 December 1994.
Plot
Ren and Stimpy are to be passed at a dog hound when they adopted by a seemingly kind old lady, Granny.[1] At her mansion, Ren and Stimpy are the victims of abuse by Granny and her Chinese servant, Mr. Hao.[1] Ren and Stimpy are neutered, and escape from the mansion only to be recaptured by the police.[1] The duo are returned and find that Granny has died.[1] In her will, she states that Ren and Stimpy are to put to death and stuffed, an order that Mr. Hao obeys as he goes on to kill and stuff Ren and Stimpy.[1]

Production
The episode was a remake of the banned 1992 episode Man's Best Friend with Granny serving as a female George Liquor.[2] The episode was illustrated by the Wang studio of Taiwan.[1]
Reception
The American critic Thad Komorowski rated the episode one star out of five.[1] Komorowksi wrote that It's A Dog's Life was a deeply unfunny and unpleasant story that was painful to watch.[2] The episode was heavily censored to remove many of the scenes of cruelty being inflicted on Ren and Stimpy by Granny.[3]
